CowboyBob
you're right bigredfan in omaha. A lot of LDS's go to schools that are in more heavily Mormon-populated areas. After we lost out on our recruitment battle with Jarrett Lee, one of the QBs we were looking at was a kid out of Washington, named Jason Munns. Munns a Mormon and he ended up at BYU. He is just one case of many. Oregon beat out NU in the recruitment of Haloti Ngata because when Haloti got to Beaverton on his official, he was greeted by a Mormon priest who showed him all around town and all the different Mormon churches, etc. By the way, it doesn't have to do with being Catholic, there's plenty of Catholics at public high school that I'm not worried about being snatched by Notre Dame, although Elkhorn high is public and I'm starting to get a little worried there, but Prep kids are always drawn to Notre Dame for some reason. Junior Bryant Tim Ridder Dan Gorski just to name a few, and Zach Potter almost went there. The president of Notre Dame...Prep grad. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
The president of Notre Dame...Prep grad. Yeah that was quite a write up in the alumni newsletter. Still hate Notre Dame with a passion!! A friend of mine is a close friend of his mom and said he's dreamed of playing for Nebraska since he was very young. Quote Link to comment
CowboyBob
that's great news! I hope it stays that way. Quote Link to comment

AR Husker Fan
Good question - as far as I know, an offer can be extended anytime. Quote Link to comment

BigWillie
Well AR, in a way, you are right too. An offer can be extended to sophmores, and even freshmen, but in those cases, the offers are basically hush-hush. You tell them they have an offer, and will be receiving it when it can be official. Now that is a bit of breaking the rules, but it is done quite often by everyone. Quote Link to comment

BW is by far the better source. Quote Link to comment

Lector
He doesn't have to get much bigger IMO, but if his skills improve over the next two years, then he is going to be an animal. I would like for his 40 time to get faster though...... Oh man, if he could lower his 40 time. Just image what he could do pulling on the counter sweeps and toss plays. 4.7 or 4.8 ? Notable OL in the class of 2008, 5* Baker Steinkuhler - 6'6 295 - 4.71 ----------------------------------------------------------- 5* Michael Brewster - 6'6 - 305 - 5.1 5* Matt Kalil - 6'7 - 285 - 5.31 5* Lucas Nix - 6'6 - 295 - 5.1 5* Tyler Love - 6'7 - 285 - 5.1 5* Stephen Good - 6'5 - 290 - 5.06 ----------------------------------------------------------- NU OL Commits besides Baker, 4* Trevor Robinson - 6'5 - 300 - 5.2 4* Bryce Givens - 6'6 - 265 - 5.1 4* Dan Hoch - 6'6 - 295 - 5.21 Lechner just needs to stay within 5.0-5.3 in the 40, anything lower would be outstanding and anything higher would start to look a tad high. husker rob
this kid is going to grow some in the next 2 years and it will be hard to keep his 40 time down. as long as he has quick feet and strong technique, i think that he will be fine Quote Link to comment
