Bug Tooth
My last thread on this subject got locked. I guess that means we as Husker fans don't want to talk about it. So at this point, i want to take a different approach and simply ask, what was given as the reason of his trauma? That's all. Has anybody seen any newsprint or personal insight they can share with me that gave the reason for the extended stay. The following stories tell notta' and leave it as an "unspecified medical emergency". What is it that takes four days to recover from that they dont want to tell us about? Even the University declines opportunity to comment. Am I the only one that seems to think it's odd, that a strong, strappin' young man has a hospital visit for such a long time, and everyone is mum? Something doesn't add up. I guess my 40 year loyalty to the game is different than you youngsters. I think we've got a problem and just merely wanted to confide in this forum that I thought to be legit, for some insight. Anybody? http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200&u_sid=2330187 http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200&u_sid=2332127 http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200&u_sid=2332127 Quote Link to comment
AR Husker Fan
No one but Lucky can say - legally, that information is not releasable by anyone but Lucky, so all you'll get is rumors. We'll probably never know, and to be honest, it really isn't anyone's business. If there is an issue that affects the team, then it should be dealt with internally - despite his status as a player, he is still a kid and should expect to have some degree of privacy over such a delicate matter. DaveH
We'll probably never know, and to be honest, it really isn't anyone's business. Thank you. Legally it isn't and really rumors that say he hurt himself do nothing for anyone. Quote Link to comment
Bug Tooth
I'm not a lawyer and don't intend to be. I'm just afraid that our program might be compromised. Destractions like this could be devestating. Whatever the reason, hopefully he has a good support group away from the team. I think he needs it in the worst way. But then again, maybe Football is the only thing that will help this fella get it together. Quote Link to comment
tattooedhusker
glad your not intending on being a lawyer with that spelling. I think it's "distractions" Quote Link to comment

He needs to lean on em when he needs to. Quote Link to comment
Bug Tooth
Thanks for the spell check BorNred. Any insight as to why the newspapers can tell of a torn ligament, tonsilectomy, or dehydration as a reason for a Cornhusker football player to be in the hospital, but for some reason this one goes hush? I'm hearing things from the left coast that doesn't make sense. Give me something to tell them they are wrong. I can't stand it listening to the Condoms at how they will use this to out recruit us with any local athlete that will ever consider us again. Tell me it was merely Mono or something as such. PLEASE!!!! Quote Link to comment
tattooedhusker
no problem there guy. This is more of a private matter than a torn ligament, etc...In a recent article he thanked us for the privacy. if Lucky wants the public to know he'll tell them(us) and you should respect that. i'm gonna go swallow 300 pills now Quote Link to comment
AR Husker Fan
***SNIP*** Any insight as to why the newspapers can tell of a torn ligament, tonsilectomy, or dehydration as a reason for a Cornhusker football player to be in the hospital, but for some reason this one goes hush? ***SNIP*** Player releases. Also, what you described are injuries related to the sport, for which I believe there are exceptions under HIPAA and the Student Privacy Act. Quote Link to comment
huskernumerouno
Ask dear abby, It is none of our business unless Lucky wants us to know. Rumors are just that Rumors. This is what you tell the left coast. NOTHING unless Lucky releases the info it is NONEYA Quote Link to comment
Bug Tooth
Ok, thats cool. I don't see tonsilectomy being related to the sport but can understand everything being necessary to be released by the individual. Btw, a mega bunch of pills wouldn't be all that hard. Just what I heard from a coach. Still not tellin' who, but let me tell ya', the word is out in the land of Trojan "puke" red. I hope the support personel within the team is enough. Forget the football. Right now, I'm worried about him as a person. Quote Link to comment

tattooedhusker
why the f#*k do USC fans give a sh#t about us? And why do you give a sh#t about what they think/say? Quote Link to comment
Bug Tooth
You know, we take alot for granted. Most of us have no idea what kinds of pressure that's put on them. A mentor leaving, a girlfriend breakup, not much of a family background..... man this stuff gets deep for Marlon. I hope in the long run he makes personal strides in life and somebody reaches out to him and lets him know he's not alone. His life needs something. I hope DaveH is right, and somebody on the team leads him to Jesus Christ. Quote Link to comment
