HUSKER 37
I dont expect you to get the context of that rap. You either get it or you dont. I understand that there are many on both sides of that. What do you mean by "Context"? Is it like trying to explain Soul Music? or Blues? ("Not sure how to 'splain it..I just knows it when I hears it") Quote Link to comment
HUSKER 37
Yeah, but I bet he can ryme. Yes...but can he spell? Gangsta Spellin' (The "H" is silent..save 'em fo tha Ho's). Quote Link to comment

("Not sure how to 'splain it..I just knows it when I hears it") Ok. I ll make this short and sweet. Somewhere in this country, there are places that have ho s ,weed, N word.( I refuse to say it). Some people because of economic or family situations grow up in that environment weather they like it or not. Some people actually can relate to his rap. That particular rap is whimsical and not at all serious. But hey to each there own. Im not judging anyone. Different strokes for different folks. Im not going ant deeper in this subject because I know its going KNOW WHERE. Quote Link to comment
HSKRNOKC
I am a fan of Snoops work. He is arguably the best rapper ever. It is a preference to like rap. I am 37 and have no problem with Snoop. He is livin. L-I-V-I-N. It may not be what some people would choose but please try to keep an open mind. I am a HUGE will ferrell fan. When we play them he is the enemy. But I have many of his movies on dvr. (Yes I like stupid movies) I might have to check his stuff out..Although most times, I'm disappointed in anything regarding "music" I find out about on BBS boards. What makes a "Best" rapper ever? (I want to say color coordination in matching the bows with the paper) Being able to rhyme with "Orange"? I actually like a handful of "Rap" songs for their beat, but have trouble differentiating most of the others I've heard (mostly same beat, different words). Would it help if I payed attention to the words more? Usually, I hate Country music too, but I've enjoyed a Willie Nelson concert or even a Patsy Cline CD because of the amazing recording quality. Will Ferrel bothered me when he was on SNL because he reminded me of a Gay guy that lived in my dorm and I guess I'm still a little homophobic..But Both my wife and I laughed a couple of times at one of his movies..Can't remember the name..He was in a frat, running nekid... But he's no Stephen Wright or Larry the Cable Guy. I used to like stupid movies..Sometimes I wonder if I'd still like "Airplane" if I waited until I was 40 to watch it. Or Blazing Saddles? or Young Frankenstein? ...Yeah..They're timeless...No mater WHAT my wife says. Frank the Tank!! The name of the movie is "Old School". That movie really put Will on the map. Freaking hilarious. Quote Link to comment

HUSKER 37
BTW I didnt grow up around any negativity. I just like the music. Do you like listening to live auctions too? j/k Probably like me still listening to the Commodores or Marvin Gaye..maybe even pre disco Bee Gees when the kids aren't in my car..Then putting in Slipknot when they are. If anybody runs into Snoop..PLEASE take him to the Zoo Bar (if they still play the Blues there).. Maybe get him a little learnin' Quote Link to comment
huskerjack23
if anyone disagrees with me in saying that Will Ferrel basically saved SNL for the six or seven years he was on that, is a damn fool. you can say Tina Fey had something to do with that, but you will be mistaken. and don't mind my nerd speak, it happens only so often....
