Eric the Red
Player: Robert Rands Hometown: Bellevue, NE Position: RB/Returner Height: 5’8” Weight: 160 40 time: 4.41 Visit Date: none Scholarships offered: Nebraska Favorites: Nebraska Rankings/Stars: Rivals: NR/** Insiders: NR Assessing the talent: Super fast. Obviously quite small, needs to pack on the pounds. He is a great track athlete, he has come close several time to breaking the Nebraska state record in the long jump that is held by Gale Sayers. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 75% He has very quietly been offered a scholarship to play football and track at Nebraska. I’m not sure exactly how many people even knew he had an offer. But when you make the announcement the same night as the #2 running back in the nation makes his, you tend to get over looked. He is the second home grown Nebraskan to accept a scholaship to play football. Quote Link to comment

Benard
I wondered why he wasn't getting no attention. He is a great athlete. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt
Good to see my alma mater finally producing some D1 talent. He seems to be a similar mold to Grixby, but I havent seen him play - anyone? Here's the schollie acceptance article from the LJS: Clicky Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
I hope that switches over to db cuz he probally will never see the field as a running back. Quote Link to comment

Oklahoma Husker
Maybe this kid can come in and solve our punt return problems. Hopefully he can catch and as you all have said he's super fast. If he can do that then he probably won't redshirt. Quote Link to comment

Right now in Hih School he's a rb/db, but being only 160 pounds, he's not going be able to sustain in the college ga,e at that position. But they have said returner and "nickelback" is a great possiblitiy. Quote Link to comment
junior4949
I'm glad we are recruiting some speed, but only being 5'8 covering 6'2 to 6'4 receivers will be a challenge unless he has a 40 inch vertical. Why not make him like a Daunte Hall. Put him in as a wingback/receiver and special teams specialist. With that kind of speed, he could really give us the spark we're missing on special teams especially punt returning. Quote Link to comment
Armistead
I agree that the kid may be too small to cover a big reciever...but he will make a nice nickle back and he would look very good running back kicks and punts..I can see a kid like this really helping us stress apposing defenses......good recruit....
