Dawson
Seeing Rathman as RB coach would be awesome.. As mentioned above I do question Frost as DC but I guess he's been coaching D for awhile and I know he played some D for J-E-T-S....so whatever.. What about Wistrom though.. I know he's coaching high school ball right now but what about bringing him over as a D Line Coach or something... MIKE MINTER FOR SECONDARY COACH!!! What about the O LIne Coach.. Wonder who they're looking at for that position.. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
A former Husker O-lineman, no doubt... Quote Link to comment

He was a DB in the NFL, and has some coaching experience. He's a smart guy, and his parents are coaches. The candidate for DC being named is Mike Stoops from Arizona. The only thing I question is Rathman as OC. I have no idea if he's qualified. I also question whether TO would dictate who the assistants are. I would think he'd give Bo the choice of who he wanted. zoogs
Sorry - my point was that it's kind of unreasonable to expect a team's staff to be comprised of all our favorite former greats at each respective position. As said many, many times before: great players don't mean great coaches. Quote Link to comment
ssfranny
311??? C'mon now. Of course 311...home grown Nebraska (Omaha) boys!!!! 311= GAY Thats your opinion!!! You know whats gay you two talking about this subject please knock it off...you 're both "all mixed up" Quote Link to comment

Spiderman here's what Rathman has been up to Thomas Dean Rathman (born October 7, 1962 in Grand Island, Nebraska) is a former American football fullback who played for the San Francisco 49ers (1986-1993) and the Los Angeles Raiders (1994). He is currently the Oakland Raiders running backs coach and was hired by head coach Lane Kiffin. He currently resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with his wife and three daughters. I say since he's a RB coach in the NFL he should get a shot at OCing but offering the job to him over our current OC..... hmmmmmmmmmmmm Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Also not sure about Rathman as OC since he has only been a RB coach but he does have alot of exposure to the WCO so maybe he is ready. Pelini was only a position coach in the NFL before he got his first shot at DC with the Huskers. Quote Link to comment
Sierra Husker
I also question whether TO would dictate who the assistants are. I would think he'd give Bo the choice of who he wanted. I don't think TO would dictate to anyone. He might try to persuade someone! Quote Link to comment
FearNU
Thanks for sharing the info. The only reason I joined was because IBR's source has been dead on and I want in on the discussions. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
i think Dr. Tom will think long and hard about the coaching changes. would be unrealistic to think he would favor a big x NU presence on it. Quote Link to comment

huskerhawk
I'm not sure people from Douglas County are considered TRUE Nebraskans. Kiss my ass. If it wasn't for Douglas Co. you wouldn't have anywhere to sell your beans and corn. Quote Link to comment
Marf
Wait... What kind of offense would be running with the new O.C? Some sort of spread? I just want the damn triple option veer back That and the smash mouth blitz liberally defense. God, i want the huskers! Quote Link to comment
