mattbri17
From LJS: Nebraska junior I-back Marlon Lucky and senior offensive tackle Carl Nicks have been selected as second-team All-Big 12 selections, the conference office announced on Tuesday. The selections were made by the conference’s 12 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own players. Ten Huskers were selected to the honorable-mention list—four on offense -- four on defense and two on special teams. Offensive players are senior center Brett Byford, junior tackle Lydon Murtha, sophomore guard Jacob Hickman and senior receiver Maurice Purify. Defensive players are junior defensive end Zach Potter, senior linebackers Bo Ruud and Steve Octavien and sophomore safety Larry Asante. Special teams players are senior kickoff/punt returner Cortney Grixby and junior punter Dan Titchener. Quote Link to comment
DJR313
Ok, how the heck did Lucky not make 1st team running back? He is #4 in the conference in all purpose yards behind 3 receivers. He is #1 for backs in all purpose yards. Quote Link to comment

Pedro Guerrero
Were there no other Defensive Newcomers aside from Chandler out of KSU? He stunk against NU so he must have won by default. Lucky and Purify were robbed. Although this now makes back to back years of being 2nd team for Marlon. Quote Link to comment

Ricky Williams won the Heisman in 1998, Ahman Green played his final season in 1997. If you are getting at the fact that both should have had equal representation in the Heisman voting, I would most certainly agree with you. Ricky got it for his career stats, just like Ron Dayne and Eric Crouch. Quote Link to comment
Transplanted_Husker
I am really surprised that NU had no representation on the First team? Purify is a going to be a first day guy in the draft and he only got Honorable mention. Travesty. Quote Link to comment
