Wally
The LJS is reporting that Pelini may still coach LSU in the NC title game if the BCS puts them there which it looks like it will. http://www.journalstar.com/articles/2007/1...21803337476.txt Quote Link to comment
EbylHusker
Not a bad thing, imo. If he can manage it, I hope he does (assuming LSU plays for the title, which I'm pretty sure they will). Quote Link to comment
huskermez9674
I don't think he can now. Plus he even said he wont. Quote Link to comment
TheKiD
How would that work? It's not like he can just show up for the game. He would have to be with the team from now til then, and he said that he is going to start recruiting and putting assistants in to place over the next few days.. and he said "there's lots of work to be done" and "i'm excited to get started". There is absolutely no way he's coaching LSU in their bowl game, none.. zero, zilch.. nada. He is the Head Coach at Nebraska now, NOT Defensive Coordinator at LSU. Quote Link to comment
justforred
When did he say he wouldn't Quote Link to comment
HuskerTrucker
Bo said he is at Nebraska now...LSU is over.... Quote Link to comment

Well, he hasn't signed a contract yet and there is a dead period in recruiting from Dec. 17 til Jan 1. I still don't see this as a good idea. Quote Link to comment
BackNBlack97
When did he say he wouldn't He said it at the press conference. 1st or 2nd question asked of him Quote Link to comment
TheKiD
Not a chance..... "Hi guys, I'm your new Head Coach!" says Bo. "Awesome! Glad to have ya!" say the players. "Wait, I'd rather coach in the NC game, I'll be back in January" says Bo. "..... wtf?" say the players scratching their heads. Quote Link to comment
Husker Runner
There are pros and cons either way. If he did coach the game it could turn into a 3 hour nationally televised recruiting video for Nebraska. He knows the rest of his coaching career hinges on his success at NU, so I'm sure he will weigh what is good for the Huskers very heavily. Quote Link to comment
husker4ever07
Holtz and Corso said there is no way Miles should let him do that. Quote Link to comment
Bleeding Husker Red
Holtz and Corso said there is no way Miles should let him do that. Holtz and Corso have no say in the matter Quote Link to comment
HANC
I told my version in "rumorville" earlier in the thread that I started on the same topic..... ESPN (we all know how to take those clowns) just said that Pelini was unsure about if he would coach or not... of course, Corso and Holtz went off and said for Bo to stay put at NU... Positive: LSU will probably not go to work for the NC game until after the recruiting period enters the "dead period"....so Bo will not be able to do any recruiting from Lincoln that he couldn't do in Baton Rouge (texts). His staff will already be in place, so this will not be an issue.... The NU players are probably "off" until the start 2nd semester anyway... As stated above, the NC game would turn into great PR for NU and recruiting video for the Huskers..... Plus, the current players might also enjoy watching their coach claiming a NC...because LSU will kick the crap out of OSU... Negative: he is NU coach NOW............ He needs to focus 100 % on this job....although, it is a dead period for recruiting, he needs to use this time to get kinks worked out with staff and make sure everyone is on the SAME PAGE as they entering off-season conditioning..... He needs to be in his office at Memorial Stadium with the "open door" policy to answer questions from the current players who may want to know where they stand... I can live with the decision either way. Quote Link to comment
HuskerPharaoh
Holtz and Corso said there is no way Miles should let him do that. Holtz and Corso have no say in the matter Thought it said in the Article that Miles wanted Bo at the game...or maybe that was in another link. Quote Link to comment
secretasianman
I don't think it matters if Miles wants him or not. He's the head coach at Nebraska now. It wouldn't be right for him to go and coach for LSU for one more game. Quote Link to comment
