harp
i'm trying to "complete my opinion" of the mangina. your thoughts? yes i know he's morbidly obese in such a way that it takes honest effort to get that fat. (ive got a schpeel about how i'm to lazy to get that rotund) but weight aside, how is he as a coach? is kansas just a flash in the pan? Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
It's hard to say really. Considering what KU was, what he's had to work with and the results they seen this year, I'd say Mangino should, at the very least, be a candidate for the award. Quote Link to comment
Cy the Cyclone
He's TWICE the coach of any others I've seen this year! He'd be even better if he's stop eating his recruits between meals... Quote Link to comment

I heard they had to take his beeper away this year because when it went off, everybody thought a truck was backing up on the sidelines. And the guy was what...29 and 35 before this year? He didn't get hit with the "Good Coaching Stick" this year...just an easy schedule combined with a fairly injury free year. Mangino and his J-Hawks will be back where they belong next year. MUTigerFan
Although he certainly has talent (both he and his team), KU's out-of-conference schedule might as well have been schools for blind nuns. Their Big 12 schedule avoided OU and Texas Tech and Texas - all of whom could might have beaten KU - and they got Nebraska in their worst season in years. Their first real test was Mizzou, and they got spanked. So... next year will show. Quote Link to comment

That all he's ever had was one good season, and that had more to do with the normal big North powers being terrible and a easy OCS. Quote Link to comment
