trouble
Nebraska Realistic best case record with this schedule: 10-2 Barring total disaster worst case record: 5-7 Realistic record: 8-4 The Bo Pelini era kicks off with three winnable, but very, very interesting non-conference games against Western Michigan, San Jose State and New Mexico State. No Husker fan will expect anything less than a 3-0 start, but that'll be tougher than is looks. There's a week off before a killer three-game stretch of Virginia Tech, Missouri and at Texas Tech. At Iowa State and home against Baylor will be relative breathers before a second brutal three-game run (at Oklahoma, Kansas and at Kansas State) to close out the string of eight games in eight weeks. There's a week off before the Friday game against Colorado. Aug. 30 Western Michigan Sept. 6 San Jose State Sept. 13 New Mexico State Sept. 20 OPEN DATE Sept. 27 Virginia Tech Oct. 4 Missouri Oct. 11 at Texas Tech Oct. 18 at Iowa State Oct. 25 Baylor Nov. 1 at Oklahoma Nov. 8 Kansas Nov. 15 at Kansas State Nov. 22 OPEN DATE Nov. 28 Colorado - Almost certain win - Likely loss - Could go either way http://cfn.scout.com/2/743401.html I agree completely. I think an 8-4 or 9-3 record is very viable this year. Quote Link to comment
np_husker
I say we go 8-4 with a decent bowl game, but better than that we show fire and never quit playing! Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
I'd say that's pretty reasonable.................I'm going to say that we lose to Oklahoma, Missery, and maybe Texas Tech. I really hate Tech, but they always seem to have our number. Quote Link to comment
MNBIGRED
I think we got tech, but i really hope kansas falls on their faces this year and i hope we're the ones stomping their heads into the ground.... they should stick to basketball Quote Link to comment
real'97champs
I'd say that's pretty reasonable.................I'm going to say that we lose to Oklahoma, Missery, and maybe Texas Tech. I really hate Tech, but they always seem to have our number. They never had our number till cosgrove took over. Pelinis defense thrives on interceptions. Even solich's teams managed to blow out tech. we lead the all time series 7-2 with the 2 losses being 04 05 Quote Link to comment
HuskerTrucker
12-0 Baby! That is the only thing I look for. 13-0 if New England quits being panzies and signs on for that extra game to find out who the real champion of the grid iron is. Quote Link to comment
Nalow
It's about time we beat Oklahoma. I don't care about the other games (well, except maybe MU and CU), but damnit... Oklahoma needs to fall. It's been FAR too long. Quote Link to comment
Igetbored216
Great read! Really enjoyed it. Seems reasonable to me. 8-4 sounds about right, and although I would definitely like to add a few more W's, I would be satisfied with that record for Bo's first season with the Huskers. Especially if I see a good product on the field, and the losses we suffer aren't blowouts. Why can't it be August and a little over a week away from the first game of the season, rather than the spring game (don't say because it's April)? Sigh... Quote Link to comment
nufootball06
i think a 8-4 season would be a great season for Bo's first year. You still have to remember how bad the Defense was last year Quote Link to comment
johnny_husker
Aug. 30 Western Michigan - W Sept. 6 San Jose State - W Sept. 13 New Mexico State - W Sept. 20 OPEN DATE - have to wait another week to see us play Sept. 27 Virginia Tech - L - Play well but come up a little short Oct. 4 Missouri - W - Could go either way but Missery usually chokes in Lincoln Oct. 11 at Texas Tech - W - Glenn has 4 INTs to lead the 7 INT day Oct. 18 at Iowa State - W - Cy plays QB and keeps it close Oct. 25 Baylor - W Nov. 1 at Oklahoma - L - Stoops runs the same play we did in 2001 to Crouch to steal the W Nov. 8 Kansas - W - a 50 yd FG by Adi to win 6-3 Nov. 15 at Kansas State - W - CRUSH them again to show last year was no fluke and that they suck Nov. 22 OPEN DATE - what do I do all weekend Nov. 28 Colorado - W - just because its the Buffs and I can't EVER pick them to win 10 - 2 Quote Link to comment

husker B-rent
Aug. 30 Western Michigan - W -who? Sept. 6 San Jose State - W - sounds familiar. Sept. 13 New Mexico State - W- there is a college football team in New Mexico? Sept. 20 OPEN DATE Sept. 27 Virginia Tech - W - i honestly think we blow them out Oct. 4 Missouri - W - revenge for last year. we will be up to play these guys Oct. 11 at Texas Tech - W - close game but much lower score than expected Oct. 18 at Iowa State - W - blow out Oct. 25 Baylor - W - see above Nov. 1 at Oklahoma - L - would love to say win but OU is very good Nov. 8 Kansas - W - very close game could go either way but with half a D we would have won last year Nov. 15 at Kansas State - W - beat em' worse than baylor Nov. 22 OPEN DATE Nov. 28 Colorado - W - a freshman running back does not make a team good overnight, unlike most CU fans will have you believe 11-1 and i think it is more realistic than most people believe. husker249
I would give almost anything to beat oklahoma. I am going to the game next year, and its going to be a long ride home if we lose because i am riding with a buddy of mine that is a sooner fan. OU's time has come to be de-throned!
