glm09
"This weekend junior recruiting will be a priority for several schools around the country. That process begins this weekend for many programs with big unofficial visit weekends and junior days. This weekend, Nebraska will hold their first junior day with a long list of 2010 prospects set to attend." That is a rivals teaser...anyone have any more information? Quote Link to comment

The pic they show is WR Ross Apo and as previously mentioned the Joeckel brothers (OT and QB) are expected to visit. Also WR Keeston Terry is supposed to visit. I'm sure there are many local guys visiting. Anyone know if Scout has a write up on the visitors? Their usual visitor link still shows Myles Wade visiting this weekend. Quote Link to comment
Ohio Pete
I think DT Beau Allen was supposed to come this weekend. Quote Link to comment

Keeston should have the red carpet rolled out for him. Getting him to visit on our junior day is pretty big. Even bigger since he is a top flight WR. Quote Link to comment
BiggerRed
I don't subscribe to any of the services, but from the teasers it certainly looks like we have more than 4-5 recruits that are pretty good coming in tomorrow. BigWillie - Does there seem to be more early interest from some of the more sought after recruits in 2010 than typical? Quote Link to comment
BigWillie
BigWillie - Does there seem to be more early interest from some of the more sought after recruits in 2010 than typical? Actually, yes. This is probably one of our best junior days as far as talent in recent memory. It's pretty simple, recruits love winning. If we continue to win, we will never have to worry about recruiting. These midwest kids took note of what happened this past year and I think it's starting to show. Now we just need to make our presence known on a more national stage to get more of those Cali and Florida kids noticing. Plus having Watson back full go will only improve our recruiting. He's been our best recruiter since hired, although Papuchis may push him hard for that honor in the next year or two. Quote Link to comment

Ek could, but he needs to be able to appeal to every type of recruit. Ek's demeanor isn't something just for the sideline, dude is a bit nutty in everyday life. He can appeal to certain type of recruits that love his energy, but he still needs to be able to connect more with the more laid back guys especially who have the laid back family. Ek's a smart, smart man though. He is still a bada** recruiter when he needs to lock things down. How he handled Will Compton and Cody Green stamped himself as a recruiter. Pap and Watson are more business like and could sell ice to an Eskimo as the old saying goes. Pap was really a big surprise. Heading into the summer he wasn't on the lips of many recruits. By the fall and winter the dude was our best recruiter. Quote Link to comment

Anyone know if they stopped in at the basketball game? yeah they were sitting right in front of me at the Texas game. There were a bunch of potential 4 star players there and they all seemed to really enjoy it. Quote Link to comment
