GSG
OT Jermarcus Hardrick, Nebraska PARTICULARS: 6-7/335 JUNIOR COLLEGE: Fort Scott (Kan.) CC; he went to Batesville (Miss.) South Panola High BUZZ: The Huskers return four linemen who started in the Holiday Bowl rout of Arizona, but coach Bo Pelini wants more physical play from the guys up front. Hardrick -- whose nickname is "Yoshi" -- has a chance to earn a starting job. Pelini talked about Hardrick's physical nature in a National Signing Day news conference, and Hardrick also has shown well in early strength and conditioning workouts. He committed to Auburn out of high school, but the Tigers eventually pulled their offer. Hardrick went to Fort Scott and originally committed to LSU in this recruiting cycle before signing with Nebraska. Link to the rest of the article Quote Link to comment
junior4949
JC recruits kind of have to make an instant impact, or else there's no reason to bring them to the team. Most JC recruits only have two years of eligibility. If they're going to need a lot of grooming to be a contributor, then there's really no reason to give them a scholly. I'd say most JC recruits that are given schollies either have a legitimate chance of starting or at least being in the two deep. Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
Is he RT or LT? He certainly has the size. T_O_B Quote Link to comment
billdozer15
Hardrick will make an immediate impact. With his size I cant imagine him not making major contributions if not starting. The guy is enormous, hopefully we will see alot more off tackle running with him plowing the way. Quote Link to comment
M I K E
I assume Yoshi is a RT. I base this purely on his looks. Every time I see a picture of him, it seems like he stares directly into my soul, and then eats it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that he seems like someone who would rather crush a DE into the ground. Quote Link to comment
schuhbdoo
Is he RT or LT? He certainly has the size. T_O_B I believe he is a LT. Blindside protection. Biggest slight in the article is they left off Lavonte David. His coach calls him the best player he has ever coached. Hardwick and David will both make a big impact at NU in the next two years. I'm OK with David being a dark horse. The less opponents know about him, the better it will be when he cracks their skulls. We struck JUCO gold with these two & they'll kick a$$ on both sides of the ball. Quote Link to comment
