"He fell awkwardly with weight on top of him, and he stretched a little bit a medial knee ligament. We expected much worse when we saw the incident. Atletico has been in the market for a striker ever since the departure of Sergio Aguero to Manchester City and they have pinpointed Falcao as the perfect replacement. Falcao's transfer fee falls $5 million short of his release clause, but the inclusion of Ruben Micael (who was sold for $5 million) in the deal leaves both clubs happy with the outcome. A statement on Atletico's official website reads: "Atletico Madrid and Porto have reached an agreement for the transfer of Radamel Falcao to the Rojiblancos. Week 1 of the Primera and Segunda Divisions will be postponed after the two bodies failed to reach an agreement following meetings on Wednesday and Friday. The players will not play until a collective bargaining agreement has been signed between the AFE and the individual clubs.
