junior4949
I was watching ESPN the other night, and they had Gilbert listed as a top 10 QB for the 2010 season. While I think he might be good and/or very good, do they really think he's going to perform that well in his first year starting? I don't get the love for A&M either. As far as I'm concerned, Sherman is just another BC experiment down there. There were a lot of people thinking we were a contender before the 2007 season. I think OU takes the South this year. Last year may prove to have been a blessing in disguise for OU. Quote Link to comment

If it was an analyst vote it would probably be more like Luck Locker Mallet Ponder Keenum Moore Quote Link to comment

Then maybe Locker and Mallet. But it really a toss up, their isnt one guy that just sticks out as the best QB right now. I do know this Gilbert hasnt even started a game yet, no way should he be considered one of the 10 best right now. Quote Link to comment

bshirt
i dont get the A&M love, the same hype was there for them before last season and imo they failed. they will be lucky to get 7-8 wins. I'm thinking the A&M love is due to the fact they have arguably the best QB in the conference with dual-threat Jerrod Johnson. And now the Aggies D is led by one of the best coordinators in the country - Tim DeRuyter. Check out these accolades highlighted on the Aggie site... DeRuyter served the previous three years as the defensive coordinator and safeties coach at the Air Force Academy. DeRuyter added the title of associate coach in 2008 and 2009 at the Colorado Springs campus. This past season, the Falcon defense finished 11th in the NCAA in total defense allowing 288.31 yards per game. The Air Force pass defense was ranked 5th in the country allowing only 154.31 yards per game while the scoring defense was 10th in the land. The air defense intercepted 20 passes to rank 7th in the country and the overall defense caused 34 total turnovers to ranked 5th in the country. The stingy defense also allowed only 14.62 first downs per game to rank 4th in the NCAA statistics. The Falcon defense was 13th in the NCAA in third-down efficiency allowing teams to convert only 30.86 percent of the time. Sure, it might take a little while before the Aggie D puts up numbers like AF did last year. But at the same time, it only took 3 years for DeRuyter to do that at AF, and now he's with the Aggies, whose talent & recruiting is far better. Well the BigXII is a vastly higher test than the high schools teams Air Force plays (Nicholls St, New Mexico, San Diego St, Wyoming, Army, UNLV, etc). CU's Hawkins did well playing those guys too. Look what happened when he upgraded to the BigXII...... Quote Link to comment
husker98
they were young and hurt alot last year. That usually translates too good next year. This article holds some ground. Quote Link to comment
carlfense
This thread made it over to a UT forum. Naturally they are outraged that anyone thinks that they might not win the South. It's an interesting combination of arrogance and insecurity over there. link (note: some NSFW language on that site) I particularly like how Suh was our entire defense . . . somehow he managed to lock down the receivers, shadow the running back, and pressure the quarterback all at the same time. I wonder if NU fans look this delusional to outsiders? I hope not. Quote Link to comment
Danimal
Being that the CCG has been taken-over by Jerryland hope like hell OU can make a comeback in the south. Otherwise we'll be playing yet again in what amounts to a horn homegame. BOOMER Quote Link to comment

huskalova
Come, come now. Don't yawll know you're supposed to cower down to UT.... Now everybody get in line and keep quiet. No more talk of leaving the conference. No, no, we won't have any talk of Big Twelve Television. Don't you know that we are gonna have a UT Network and keep all the money. Yep kinda like we do now, that thar conference split is a gooood deal for yawll.... Oh yeah by the way the CCG is gonna be in our back yard and yawll better like that too. Because if ya don't tough bowel movement... Besides just ask the Big Twelve big dummy and he'll tell ya how it's gonna go, get on the plane or deboard. As for the last CCG. Do you know how lucky yawll were to be in that game. If poor ole Colt wasn't harassed all day by that thar N dam knog Suh feller, you know he woulda found his Broke Back Mountain buddy, errr, I mean his fishin' friend. Now yawll get back up thar north where ya belong and stay in line... And don't ya like how they call the new qb GG. Ain't that special. And maybe somewhat limp wristed. 1 Quote Link to comment
Igetbored216
How quickly Texas fans forget it took the refs bailing them out of the CCG by illegally adding a second onto the clock. Whatever. The game will speak for itself. Unfortunately it's way too far away... Quote Link to comment
