CornHunka
For S&G, I got on the net and looked up hotel rates of the LaQuinta Inn for the Super Bowl weekend. We stayed at same hotel for the Big 12 Championship game. We paid $119 per night then, those same rooms right now are going for $549 a night. I realize its the Super Bowl and all that, but holy crap that's a snot-ton of money, and that doesn't include the price of a ticket, which will run you is averaging $3,500 per ticket on SubHub Unless I win the lottery or I have a long, lost rich relative that remembers me in his will, I'm going cross attending a Super Bowl off my bucket list. NUance
$549 for LaQuinta?? I think I'd drive a couple hundred miles before I paid that. But then I'd risk missing the kickoff of the $3,500 game. Quote Link to comment
CornHunka
just saw this. According to FoxSports.com, parking lots close to Cowboys stadium are charging almost $1000 for spots while hotels are quadrupling their regular rates. At an eye-watering $990, ParkWhiz priced a reserved place in its lot at more than $850 above the stadium's official parking fee. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirtsguru
I attended a Super Bowl down in Miami one year and I vowed never to go to another one. sh#t was over priced, over crowded, and to be honest, the game kind of sucked. Ever since that time, I will never go to another one. Quote Link to comment
mmmtodd
theyre selling tickets to stand and watch the outside screen to season ticket holders for 200 bucks a pop. have to buy them in packs of 4. 200+ smackers to stand there and say, gee whiz, i wish i wasnt poor while staring wistfully at the stadium. knapplc
The circus surround the Super Bowl has gotten way out of hand. There is no way I'd ever attend a Super Bowl if I was paying for it. Even if I was given tickets I'd have to think long and hard about selling them. It's SO not worth it. Quote Link to comment
