3. Eric Crouch, Nebraska QB

Crouch shifted the Husker option attack into high gear during his time under center. Although he was an excellent rusher, Crouch showed his versatility by becoming only the third player in Division I history to rush for 3,000 yards and throw for 4,000 yards during his career. Crouch even caught a touchdown pass in a game against Oklahoma that turned the game for the Huskers. Nebraska reached the BCS Championship Game in 2001 and Crouch took home the Heisman. 8. Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska DT

One of the most dominant defenders in all of college football throughout the past 25 years, Suh looked like a man playing amongst boys in Lincoln. He broke out as a junior in 2008, tallying 7.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss. Suh’s 2009 season was legendary, and his performance in the Big 12 Championship Game almost single-handedly won the game for the Huskers. Suh destroyed the Texas offensive line with 4.5 sacks. He finished fourth in the Heisman voting and went on to become the second overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. (US Presswire/Matthew Emmons)

The list seems kinda heavy on QBs. Like any cf award list.

Here's a list of all the player of the year award winners. I would think a top 20 from this list works. Surprised that 2 time winner Grant Wistrom didn't make their list as there has never been a repeat Defensive player of the year other than GRANT. I also would say I don't agree with the player of the year list either as I don't see how Mike Brown, Bishop and others can't be on it. I mean really, would you rather have Ahman Green or Troy Davis???

Wistrom was the one glaring omission that first came to my mind too. The list is so heavy with QBs and RBs that some of the great defensive players and O-linemen are bound to get left off.
