Sweet Home Husker
When everyone is getting a Blackshirt the Blackshirt means nothing that is the big problem with this team, I am still no sold on Bo and company leading this team, this team needs a leader that knows how to lead. Penalties and turnovers is what killed this team on this game. The team is undisciplined and that lays directly at the feet of the head coach. Quote Link to comment
BIG ERN
Cover 2 man with safeties over the top doesn't work against 5 man spreads with sub par talent. What's up middle of field (duh) Quote Link to comment
huskerdan64
We played against teh spread last year in the Big Twelve, did we forget how to defend against it in less then a year? Quote Link to comment
shabizzle
mobile qb really f'd us over Quote Link to comment
shabizzle
I think we would have won that game if persa stays in. Either way our defense was soft today. Quote Link to comment
BIG ERN
We played against teh spread last year in the Big Twelve, did we forget how to defend against it in less then a year? Scrambling QBs always kill us. We dont have the talent we had last year to trust them in man across the whole middle Quote Link to comment
Haspula
We never loaded up the box to stop the run. We played one quarter and that was the 2nd quarter defense Quote Link to comment
Glendower
Go look at Northwestern's record. They tend to score upper 20s or low 30s even in games they lose. I won't pin this on the defense. Yeah, on that last TD, it would have been nice if the D would have gotten a stop, no doubt. But the fact that even some people that North western beat scored over 30 makes me REALLY not want to blame the D. They didn't play up to their potential, but they kept NW under their average. redout22
Not terrible for the fact they scored 59 last week and had over 600 yards of offense. The thing that makes me mad is we didnt adjust. We played confused and sloppy and thats on both the coaches and players. Quote Link to comment
shyndy
the last drive was really bad on our D. They ran the ball every freaking time. otherwise i'd agree, our offensive gameplan was bad and not Becks best playcalling. People saying hes same as watson need to shutup however. roundegotrip
This game is more on Beck and the offense than it is on Carl and the defense. The red zone turnovers killed us, obviously. Bad play calls. Rex was obviously not anywhere near 100%. The result is way too many short drives.... Northwestern had a 10 minute TOP advantage, and they are a spread team.... the defense was probably pretty gassed by the 4th quarter. Quote Link to comment
PuegotDaddy
The shirts did better when they played with pink last week ...do you think Bo will pull some shirts ? Stienkuhler played a great game ; also alot of holding going on .. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Northwestern's offense is gutsy and a lot better than people give them credit for - not too surprised that they gave us some fits. Their talent at QB at least (Colter OR Persa) is underrated (at least Colter is). But - yes - now it is fair to question the way the 'shirts were handed out. Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
No adjustments on defense. Lb'ers trying to cover receivers. Not enough blitzing. Not enough showing blitzes then backing out. No confusion. No pressure. Four man rush all day long. Contain without containing. Slot receivers running wide open. Ciante Evans really struggling. Eric Martin not on the field enough. We don't take away short routes, Db's playing way too far off the ball. No bump coverage, Short routes all day long. Too easy. Quote Link to comment
