Is it really that surprising?

Probably more of a Tea Party type crowd....Just booing.

Luckily it wasn't an OWS crowd.....They probably would have hurled handfuls of crap, molotov cocktails and rocks. You know, that no violent movement.

It's interesting to me that conservatives are OK with booing the first lady when she is at an event supporting US veterans. I guess GOP love for the military is boundless . . . unless they see another opportunity to attack the Obamas.

(fyi, I saw W. speak in person. Somehow I refrained from booing him.)

Also . . . you cited a WND column. I assume that you know better. WND makes the NYPost, Fox, and HuffPo look sane and reasonable.

Well if the OWS crowd was there, at least it wouldn't be hard to find handfuls of crap laying around! :D

It sounds like crowd was very supportive of the wounded veteran and the cause. I cited from all angles, I know better than that.

I'm glad to hear that you didn't boo W. I'm going to go out on the limb and say there are people that feel the same way that you do that have booed him. I will also reach out there an say that it is unlikely that every person at this event booed Obama.

When I saw the headline to this story, I was expecting a lot worse. I had to turn the volume up to be honest with you.

I noticed that and I think that was a wise thing to do. That said, lumping WND in with actual journalism is a mistake.

There is no doubt that the NASCAR crowd is proportionately more conservative. I don't think anyone can make excuses about who was booing. It's things like this that drive the wedge between the parties even further.

Yet there is no real difference between the parties.

What is happening is that the far right keeps getting kookier and kookier.

Can anyone find a negative Obama story on MSNBC? MSNBC, owned by GE, that doesn't pay taxes, run by Obama's Job Czar. It all makes sense.

Obama is not left wing, on financial and foreign policy he is similar to Bush(43).

GE and Wall Street loves Obama!

Corporate America owns both parties, end of story.

I'll take it a step further.....What is actual journalism?

Actual journalism? It's a great question. I always get a good laugh when someone tries to tell others what is and isn't actual journalism as if their opinion is some kind of authority on the subject. The lines have been so blurred that it's hard to trust any source that doesn't have some kind of agenda driving what they have put out. Personally, I can't stand any of the major cable new outlets for TV. Newspapers are no different. All I want out of my news is facts, what happened, period. Don't give opinions, editorials, the Five, Hannity, Ed, Maddow, yada, yada, yada. Just tell me what happened and let me figure out my own opinion. The thing is these days people want to be told what to believe, thus the popularity of O'Reilly, Maddow, etc. It gets the ratings so simple factual news reporting is long gone because it doesn't sell ads and makes money.

Of course they do (or did, recent polling shows CEOs that supported him are looking else where), people like Obama play into the big guys hands. Need banking legislation who do you talk to, Dorchester State bank, in sunny Dorchester Nebraska, with maybe a couple of million in deposits, or Wells Fargo, with billions running through it every day. The more the Gov regulates the closer the big guys get to the Gov, the harder it is for a small guy to compete....

Is anyone really surprised? NASCAR fans appreciate military vets, as a vast majority of people do, however it's safe to assume that Southern conservatives attending the race aren't big fans of liberal Democrats.

It's not an apples to apples comparison, but Sarah Palin was booed at a NY Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers hockey game and on Dancing with the Stars. While Michelle Obama is not as divisive as Sarah Palin, in my opinion, both women were out of their element during these occasions. In either case, it's better to simply not applaud rather than boo.
