CornHOLIO
Oh great! Another bad cartoon restaurant figure to model the new and improved Lil' Red after Quote Link to comment

coop
Can't say I remember that one. One that I fondly remember growing up was Kings Food Host. Used to love ordering the food by picking up the phone at the table! Ah Memories... Quote Link to comment

Seems like they were cheese sanguiches cut in wedges, then deep fried with chicken batter? Quote Link to comment

huskerenner
Yes,that was the place. There was also a Kings downtown and another I believe at 40th and South st. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
We just called it King's. I vaguely remember it being called King's Food Host. I never tried the Cheese Frenchie, but they had some really great fries and malts, I recall. Quote Link to comment
krill
Kings had the best chili, cheese frenchies and milk shakes. Throw in some Miller and Paine cinnamon rolls and mac n' cheese and I would be the happiest man alive, before dying of congestive heart failure. Quote Link to comment
HeyBurke
Isn't King's part of some Amigo's restaurants? Quote Link to comment
TXHSKR
Kings.......we must be showing our age. Betcha 75% of the board has no clue. Quote Link to comment
krill
Isn't King's part of some Amigo's restaurants? Amigos bought the rights to the King's name...what they have is nothing like the food that King's had though. I hate to sound grumpy, but really, it's embarrassing that they call it King's classic. For that matter Runza bought the Miller & Paine name and surprise, nothing like the cinnamon rolls they had! I was only like 5-6 years old and still have that wondrous taste etched in the ol' memory bank. Quote Link to comment
HUSKER 37
I remember going to Lincoln in the late '60's as a 7? year old to visit my Big Sister while she was in college...Seems like we either went to KFC or Kings at least once each time..After reading and remembering about the Chese Frenchees..I'm thinking about getting a deep fat fryer and seeing if I can create the same magic for my 10 year old Son.
