Hercules
Badgerfan, the parents in your metaphor would be representative of Montee's and Rex's parents in real life, not of the "o-line." Everyone on this message board is not "family," in your metaphor world. We'd be the committee evaluating the SAT essays written by both Tom (Rex) and Joe (Montee). You're arguing that Joe's (Montee's) essay is better, which all Nebraska fans are agreeing with. However, Nebraska fans are torn between the two because Joe (Montee) wrote a fantastic essay on an easy question, while Tom (Rex) wrote a solid essay on a difficult question. The essay is the task, where in real life picking up yards and touchdowns is the task. The only variable with the essay is how difficult the question is, and in real life the variables that make that task easier include the o-line, QB play, WR play, even defensive play. And to get out of this godforsaken metaphor - the idea that Montee Ball is one of the best RBs of all time is so wrong it's almost laughable. Also, when did 32 TDs become "almost 40?" 2 Quote Link to comment

You've read far too deep into that metaphor, it was meant as a simple satire of this thread that I drew up in a couple minute break at work...anyhow... Ball has 38 touchdowns on the year. He's also done that on fewer touches than Barry..... Quote Link to comment

Excel
I'm just saying...who was in NYC Saturday night? Who's name will be in the record books at the end of Bowl Season? Whoever it is, he won't have "Nebraska" at the end of his name..... Ball > Rex and that's not silly Quote Link to comment
Rocketsocks
Ball has 38 touchdowns on the year. He's also done that on fewer touches than Barry..... Ball isn't worthy to carry Barry Sanders jock strap. You think people will forget Burkhead in a few years? Compared to Barry Sanders, neither Ball nor Burkhead will be remembered at all. On a scale of one to ten with Barry Sanders being a ten, Ball is a three and Burkhead a 3.5. And even then I'm being generous to Ball. The elephant in the room that nobody is talking about is Russell Wilson. Without a real passing threat this year Ball gets half the yards and TDs he has. He owes that trip to New York to Wilson's arm, #2 ranking at Pass Efficiency, and ability to run. Ball on Nebraska is Burkhead. Burkhead on Wisconsin is Ball. It's pretty even. Quote Link to comment

Rocketsocks
You don't need to go to rehab Badger. All you need to do is repeat after me: My name is Badgerfan and I am gullible. For a guy who does so much goofing around, your buttons are too easy to push. Quote Link to comment

Rocketsocks
I should have started in on how bad Russell Wilson is before telling him. But he would have figured it out if I had gone too far with it. Quote Link to comment
