the 1980 class should be higher. turner gill and irving fryar are two of the best all time and there were two other all americans in that class. 2007 was a fine class, but no way should that be about 1980. also, i think johnny rogers, rich glover and willie harper were in the same class in 1969. if so, that's gotta be number one.

Where's Suh's class?

Marlon Lucky and then NFL players Matt Slauson, Zach Potter, Phillip Dillard, Chris Brooks and Zackary Bowman

a good class, but borderline top 10 as far as contributions to NU. obviously suh was a legend and lucky was a good player. slauson and potter were also pretty good for us and dillard was a stud for one season, but we have so many other classes with multiple all-americans and legends. as someone pointed out, 94 should get consideration as well towards the bottom of the top 10. wistrom, rucker, warfield, wilz, wiggam, foreman, sheldon jackson, octavius mcfarlin.

1996 hands down is in the top five easily if not top three for this guy.

Mike Brown, Ralph Brown, Dan Alexander, Russ Hochstein, Carlos Polk, Steve Warren, Eric Johnson.

And then solid contributors like, Clint Finley, Loran Kaiser, WIllie Miller, and Josh Gibson. Oh and the "best" RB that year in the country was in that class in DeAngelo Evans. Man that guy was gonna rewrite all the records here at DONU.

^^ That's what Dylan pointed in the second post in this thread. At the end of his post.

Thanks! I totally missed that.

Unfortunately pretty much anything you see printed these days (ESPECIALLY on lowest common denominator sites like Bleacher) not only suffers from the recency effect but is specifically designed to take advantage of same (you're going to generate more hits talking about something that happened in the last 2-3 years than something from 40+).

To be honest I have a hard time believing any Nebraska class in the last decade would be among their best 'ever'.
