GoFrogs
Greetings Husker fan! As an avid college football fan, I am eager to figure out where Nebraska will play their bowl game. As a TCU alumni, I would love for "ya'll" to come to Houston for the Houston Bowl on New Year's Eve. It seems most websites have picked Nebraska to go to the Independence Bowl. I hope you lobby for a trip to Houston. After all, as well as you travel you should be able to have a little more say than the other 7-4 teams in your conference. Pros for Houston game: Play vs. 10-1 BCS #14 TCU New Year's Eve Game (Saturday vs. middle of week) First class NFL stadium Tailgating friendly Houston Nightlife Opportunity to steal recruits from UT Recruit Houston market Texas women TCU coeds Friendly houston hospitality Cons: None. Better than any other bowl you are in the running for. Get on the phone, internet, e-mail and start campaigning - I hope to see you in Houston! Houston Bowl Go FROGS! Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
I would personally rather go to the alamo bowl, all of the pros and a chance to lay in a bigger bowl game against a big ten team. Quote Link to comment
benjibean1
If i were to lobby it would be for the Holliday bowl in SD. But that is because it is easy to get to for me. Heck i dont care as long as they play like they did against the CU club. Quote Link to comment
GoFrogs
The Holiday Bowl will not choose Nebraska over Oklahoma. The Alamo Bowl does have a higher payout, but better bowl? Don't think so. It doesn't have the same pros - Iowa sucks, which means you will probably win easily and I guess I can understand the desire to win since you are rebuilding. TCU is from a lesser conference, but they have been one of the winningest programs in college football the last 8 years. How can you think that playing Iowa would be a better for your program? Unranked, underachieving - a win does nothing. Reliant stadium is considered the best stadium in the NFL, the Alamodome is a piece of crap. San Antonio is nice, but Houston is more Nebraska's pace. Tuesday night vs Saturday night? No question, more people will travel attend the latter Dec. 27 vs Dec 31 - I bet San Antonio nightlife will not be jumping on the Tuesday after Christmas I guess a lot of this doesn't apply if you aren't going to the game, but I know a lot of Husker fans will want to travel. Regardless, best of luck to your program - the Big 12 North sure could use a power house program again! Quote Link to comment

Although I see your what your saying but I must point out that Sat over Tues really doesn't matter. If you have researched, It is a proven fact that Nebraska Fans are one of the most traveled fans in the Nation when it comes to a Bowl game. Be it as it may I will go to any bowl since I live in Texas! Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
I would have to say that the TCU coeds are one heck of an arguement for the Houston Bowl. Those ladies down there are down right hot. There must be something in there water or something. Quote Link to comment

husker rob
NU will go to the Alamo Bowl or the Holiday Bowl so which ever chooses OU then the other is taking NU as long as CU does not beat TU. Now if TU loses then the Huston on Independence bowl's are probably where NU will end up. Me personally I would rather NU go to the Alamo Bowl because San Antonio is closer. Anyway GoFrogs what makes you think that your team will beat NU in the first place. Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
Actually, if CU wins, than they go to a BCS game, Texas does as well, TT to the cotton bowl, and OU and Neb still split the holiday, alamo bowls, so it doesnt matter who wins. Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
The Houston bowl is a demotion from the Alamo. Bigger payout, more things to do in SA (Shamoo, best golf courses in Texas, nightlife) and plus Iowa is a team NU fans would LOVE to beat the hell out of them and make them continue to wonder why Iowa does so poorly against NU. Blackshirt34
The two espn anaylsts that predicted the bowl game choices both had NU going against Iowa in the Alamo bowl. Quote Link to comment
