Haspula
Project Oscar, the $16.8 million, 80,000-square-foot office and retail complex south of the new Pinnacle Bank Arena, will be white and glassy. The designs for the building, released Friday, will be reviewed Thursday by the Historic Preservation Commission to make certain they are in line with the vision of the new development west of the historic Haymarket. A tenant, rumored to be a local architecture firm, will make the building its corporate headquarters. The plans qualify for tax increment financing and will also need approval from the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission and City Council. General plans call for a four-story building, about 65 feet high, with first-floor retail and office space on the top three floors. Construction likely would begin later this year. Flood
It reminds me of Soviet-Era block apartments, honestly. Perhaps exquisite landscaping would improve it. Just my opinion, and no, I am not an architect. Just some dummy on the internet. Glad to see the development, in general, though. Quote Link to comment
BuffSurveyor
Not a great design for a building if the renditions are close to being true. To bad! I don't want the Haymarket to turn into downtown Omaha. Quote Link to comment

If you want to build in the Haymarket you should have to make the outside of the building look vintage like the old building in the Haymarket (brick, worn, etc). It just would give a much better feel and fit in with the old building in the area. Quote Link to comment

Sad because there is tons of potential in that area Quote Link to comment
