This guy is suppose to be up there with Blake as far as recruiting abilty. Do you guys think Callahan will hire him?

I have not heard much about him before. I would hope that Callahan would give the job to Blake to keep him here longer.

Last night the Channel 6 news mentioned that Roberts would be filling the position vacated by Downing.

Was this guy saying he wants the recruiting coordinator job? Or do you think he'd be willing to step in another role if Blake got put in that position?

 

Anyway, I haven't heard much about this guy.. have heard his named mentioned a few times though, will have to readup a bit on this guy.

 

But, from the quote the sounds like the guy would be stoked to come to NU, and the more guys we can have on staff like that, the better.

I could be mistaken, it happened one other time back in '43, but I believe we do NOT want Blake to be RC. I believe the RC is NOT allowed to be out on the road to recruit but, rather, stays in Lincoln to COORDINATE all recuiting aspects?? We want Blake to be out in kids' homes as much as is possible.

All I know is Roberts is suppose to be one of the elite recruiters -- the best of the best. I wonder why Steve Spurier(sp?) didn't retain him.

Lemming says he is one of the top 5 recruiters in the nation. He sounds like a great fit.

Roberts bio includes working as offensive coordinator at Notre Dame (1994-96), he was head coach at Baylor (1997 and '98) then was the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at South Carolina from 1999-2004. Earlier this year he tried for the Head Coaching job at Sam Houston State which Turner Gill also tried for.

The guys on 1620 last night were saying that Dave Roberts said he would be there in a heartbeat. Nice to know we have a great replacement already lined up.

Tom Lemming seems to think he's one of the nations 5 best recruiters and actually recommended Callahan to hire him.

Uhh former bud, did you watch the last couple games.... I do believe we have a staff that can coach. But, nice to see you got over the shock of Nebraska winning and have come back to insult them already.
