Should the balloon tradition end?

Wasn't there an article in the mid 90's about the balloons killing birds such as geese or cranes or something? Either way it is stupid and people will bitch if they feel like they need to no matter how dumb the reason.

Ugh, again my idea is great. We could throw used corn cobs. They are biodegrable. We could start a compost pile under visiting teams benches.

 

That or stick to the balloons.

 

Edit: If ths is what we debate when the team is doing well. If we win the National Championship are we going to debate parking spot sizes?
