Eric the Red
Callahan: All the playeres we recruited late, watched the Alamo Bowl, and that got them excited. The way we finished against Colorado and Michigan helped us recruit those last few guys...they wanted to be apart of this" Quote Link to comment
kramer
This was something that was a no brainer Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Like a few people said the Alamo Bowl definately helped us out in the end with some recruits. I figured we would get a few guys with the way we finished at the end of the year!!! Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
``Our reception was wonderful,'' Callahan said. ``The players that we recruited all watched the Alamo Bowl and they see the potential and they see the future. They're excited about the future of Nebraska football and want to be a part of it.'' Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
and......we need to build on this during the coming season with some big wins and another bowl appearance/win to boost the recruiting.....we need a better class next year, fewer JUCO's and more 4*, 5* guys............to get to the next level   hunter Quote Link to comment
kc_husker
we dont need 5 star guys, how many 5 star guys did Dr Tom get? Its all about wanting to play for Nebraska. 3 star or 4 star. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
well, if we don't NEED 4 or 5 star guys why do we recruit them?? tell that to USC and Texas, "ah yall don't need any 4's or 5's......just send them on down to us" Â Â hunter Quote Link to comment
pigsonthewing
why let 4 or 5 star guys sign with the other team without trying to get them on yours first? some pan out and some dont. lets hope the ones we get pan out. Quote Link to comment
huskered17
we dont need 5 star guys, how many 5 star guys did Dr Tom get?Its all about wanting to play for Nebraska. 3 star or 4 star. Dr. Tom didn't need as many 4 or 5 stars as Bill C will need to keep the wco going year after year. It has to be much tougher to get the right players to fit this type of offense than the option offense. The option was all about over powering the other team. WCO seems more of a finesse type of offense to me. Does anyone else see it that way? Â Â GBR!!! Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
absolutely, it requires a number of skill players at many positions to be successful, not only good players, but those that can understand and perform in a number of less than simple roles..... Â Â hunter Quote Link to comment
Roy CO HSKR
husker red 17: I believe you are correct. Many disgruntled fans don't understand that, unfortunately. Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
Wasnt there a thread earlier about how the end of the season would affect recruiting, and there were a number of people who said it wouldnt mean anything??? Well, I guess they were wrong Quote Link to comment
kc_husker
I wasnt saying we shouldnt go after or get 5 star kids. I was trying to say is would you want a 3 star kid that wants to work his butt off and play. or a 4 or 5 star kid that it really doesnt want to work at it. I applaud what coach C is doing. Benard
Wasnt there a thread earlier about how the end of the season would affect recruiting, and there were a number of people who said it wouldnt mean anything??? Well, I guess they were wrong I wouldn't say we really clobbered home at the end the year. We lost out on a couple key guys we were going after and got a few decent players. I think that would of happen no matter how we did. Quote Link to comment
StuckinChicago
Yeah, but instead of the ones we got who said they came here because of the way we finshined out the season, we get the guys that we turned away or had their visits cancelled. I would rather have the guys that we got, wouldnt you? Quote Link to comment
