That's cool - and interesting. I was wondering where I had heard this name before.

Chris Brasfield is in his fourth season as Oregon State’s running backs coach and in January of 2012 was selected as one of the top 50 recruiters in the country by 247Sports.

Before we beat out Harbaugh for the 49ers' old RBs coach, I was thinking this guy was someone I wouldn't have minded at all coming here to take the same position.

And as a GA?

Awesome, yes. But isn't it weird?

In that for the first time in a decade we have a coach and program reaching out to the youth and people in this state?

Yes. That does seem kinda weird.

Not to mention a position coach of a power 5 school and a top 50 rated recruiter in a non coaching position.

Weird in that he is not a native, and he is typically a position coach. He just applied for a position coach job at Texas not too long ago.

I don't know why, I expected someone who had some local ties in place.
