What this argument sounds like. People who don't like the kneeling won't like any form of protest. Would much rather have African Americans sit down and shut up because apparently there is no oppression

Idiotic statement.

If people handled themselves as Dr. King recommended (not that any of these malcontents know who Dr. King is) we all would be better off.

Dr. King protested in the streets frequently and often.

Peacefully. He didn't riot, and asked his followers not to riot.

Nor did he ever ask his followers to disrespect their country, as far add I know.

It's not nearly as important of a question as to whether or not he did those things, but whether or not White America perceived him as doing those things:

Oh. So my recollection of Dr. King isn't far off base, and the current BLdM movement doesn't follow Dr. King's lead.

As usual, thanks for nothing.

Not sure why you're being so dense.

BLM doesn't advocate for riots, and or the disrespect of this nation, yet many whites in opposition to their cause seem to think they do for some reason.

Martin Luther King Jr., similarly, didn't advocate for riots, or for disrespect of this nation, yet many whites in opposition to his cause seemed to think he did.

MLK advocated nonviolent protest. That much is true. However, the protests he organized were DESIGNED to illicit a shocking and violent response from the southern white community. The beatings and deaths of protesters were expected.

This was all in the name of "waking up" the rest of the country that was very content to not acknowledge what was going on in terms of discrimination.

In that way, MRI and BLM have a similar goal and methods. Denying there is a problem to solve continues to prove THEIR point.

In other words, BLM and MLK trolled racist whites with non-violent public protests which incited these racist whitess to act like a bunch of thugs while BLM/MLK took the abuse and made themselves look better in the process?

Well, those do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And it's to learn (history or otherwise) in a culture that celebrates ignorance...willful or otherwise.
