GOP House Appropriations Committee proposes repeal of AUMF

Recommended Posts

This is a rather shocking development, but perhaps a sign that even Republicans are getting tired of Trump's nonsense. Today the House Appropriations Committee, headed by Republicans, proposed an amendment that would take away a president's ability to go to war. If passed, every new war would require Congressional consent.

I'd be for that and if this is being proposed by Republicans....great.

But, it will never be signed by Trump.

Not that it matters, but I'm pretty sure he railed on Obama for not going through Congress when contemplating actions against Syria.

I would love to see him try to defend "not signing" it while that Tweet is being circulated far and wide. And then have Congress override the veto.

:laughpound Yeah....it doesn't matter what he said before. He's proven that.
