skers
I've worked with enough team guys to know they're not all stellar athletes with impeccable coordination, even if they make it through BUD/S. If the guy had some speed, maybe convert him to one of the middle/outslide linebacker spots. At 6'2, he's not short. Look at some of the Husker greats in the LB position. IDK maybe I just want this dude to succeed due to his background. 2 Quote Link to comment
JoeSakic2019
Damion Jackson is a great story. Right now he is playing DE. He is probably the 4th or 5th DE on the right side of the Defense. He also is the backup long snapper and backup protector on the punt team. He will see the field, but likely on special teams. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, pretty much! Quote Link to comment

But a lot of that is the number of upperclassmen on the two-deep I would think. You've got both Davises, Stille, and then a bunch of guys with at least some experience - Daishon Neal, Deontre Thomas, Chris Walker to some degree. I'd guess Jackson is in the Casey Rogers/Tate Wildeman group working on getting bigger this year and ready to contribute next year. I don't know if he'll ever have the size to be exactly what the coaches want at DE, he can put on weight but he's not getting taller. I still think he'll be a good rotational guy, but I wouldn't expect much outside of special teams/the South Alabama game. Seems like he could fit at ILB -- is he too big or too slow for that spot? JoeSakic2019
At this time he is built more like Garrett Nelson who plays outside linebacker than any of the inside backers. Quote Link to comment
