husker rob
dont you get 800 for spelling your name right? Quote Link to comment
zoogs
No. 800 is the max score on a section. Assuming they're only talking about the traditional reading/math sections, it's 810 out of 1600 where 400 is the minimum. Nt'l average is supposed to be about 1000, so 810 s pretty low. I don't know - is 820 all they're requiring? Is that true for UNL in general? Quote Link to comment
husker rob
i know that you need at least a 2.0 in your core classes. with that then you need a higher ACT or SAT. i think that comes from the NCAA clearing house Quote Link to comment
RedDenver
Didn't the SAT change the scoring system in the last few years? I heard that 1600 isn't the max anymore. Quote Link to comment
BigWillie
2400 is now the max score. Quote Link to comment
husker rob
with 2400 being the max, wouldnt 800 be something like 33%? that doesnt look very good Quote Link to comment
zoogs
The SAT changed to add a Writing section starting last year (h.s. class of '06), but oftentimes this score is basically disregarded. Some colleges don't even consider it - or give it as much consideration as the Math and Reading anyway - because it's so new and there's little basis with which to compare it (i.e, I don't believe they release percentiles yet). In other words, that's definitely a M/V only score. 820/2400 cannot *possibly* be the cutoff line, because that is wayyyy, way, way too low. If there are cutoffs, it makes sense that they don't factor in the new writing section yet, and 820 is a *reasonable* cutoff for the old score system. Quote Link to comment
