Toe
George Flippin was one of the players represented on the old Tunnel Walk gate (which IMO is much better than the new one, wish they'd bring it back). https://unions.unl.edu/george-flippin 2 Quote Link to comment
DayByDayHusker
This feels like the Jackie Robinson approach. Tying the George Flippin backstory to the equality movement carries more weight and is more thought provoking than just simply putting "equality" on there helmets like TOSU. Nicely done and well thought out IMO. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
Toe
(Just kindly overlook the fact that after George Flippin, Nebraska had a no negroes policy in place for decades...) Quote Link to comment
krc1995
Great story. Read the link. I knew he was a dx in. Stromsberg. The only African American in the cemetery I did not know. Quote Link to comment
