BigRedBuster
This is just f#&%ing stupid and pisses me off. It's like ESPN is trying to make sure as few people are watching as possible. Quote Link to comment

It's like ESPN is trying to make sure as few people are watching as possible. I mean ... I wouldn't like to play at 10:00 AM either. But this isn't the National Championship game - that's in the evening. The NCAA basketball tournament starts at about the same time in the morning. And that schedule allows for all the games to be on ESPN networks, staggered throughout the day.. We just happened to be the one who drew the early morning time slot. No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 2 Nebraska | 11 a.m. ET | ESPNU | Louisville regional semi No. 3 Ohio State vs. No. 2 Minnesota | noon ET | ESPN2 | Austin regional semi No. 4 Baylor vs. No. 1 Louisville | 1:30 p.m. ET | ESPNU | Louisville regional semi No. 4 Marquette vs. No. 1 Texas | 2:30 p.m. ET| ESPN2 | Austin regional semi No. 3 Florida vs. No. 2 Pittsburgh |3:30 p.m. | ESPNU | Madison regional semi No. 4 Penn State vs. No. 1 Wisconsin | 6 p.m. ET | ESPNU | Madison regional semi No. 3 Kentucky vs. No. 2 San Diego | 8 p.m. ET | ESPNU | Stanford regional semi No. 5 Houston vs. No. 1 Stanford | 10:30 p.m. ET | ESPNU | Stanford regional semi I think the response is a bit over-the-top, imo. Mavric
For reference, here is the NCAA basketball tournament schedule for an eight-game day. Pretty similar it seems to me. Quote Second round schedule, Saturday 12:10 p.m. — No. 1 Baylor vs. No. 8 North Carolina — CBS 2:40 p.m. — No. 1 Kansas vs. No. 9 Creighton — CBS 5:15 p.m. — No. 3 Tennessee vs. No. 11 Michigan — CBS 6:10 p.m. — No. 4 Providence vs. No. 12 Richmond — TNT 7:10 p.m. — No. 4 UCLA vs. No. 5 Saint Mary’s — TBS 7:45 p.m. — No. 7 Murray State vs. No. 15 Saint Peter’s — CBS 8:40 p.m. — No. 4 Arkansas vs. No. 12 New Mexico State — TNT 9:40 p.m. — No. 1 Gonzaga vs. No. 9 Memphis — TBS Second round schedule, Sunday 12:10 p.m. — No. 4 Illinois vs. No. 5 Houston — CBS 2:40 p.m. — No. 2 Villanova vs. No. 7 Ohio State — CBS 5:15 p.m. — No. 2 Duke vs. No. 7 Michigan State — CBS 6:10 p.m. — No. 3 Wisconsin vs. No. 11 Iowa State — TNT 7:10 p.m. — No. 3 Texas Tech vs. No. 11 Notre Dame — TBS 7:45 p.m. — No. 2 Auburn vs. No. 10 Miami — TruTV 8:40 p.m. — No. 3 Purdue vs. No. 6 Texas — TNT 9:40 p.m. — No. 1 Arizona vs. No. 9 TCU — TBS Now, that is the round of 32 compared to the Sweet 16, so it's not an exact comparison. But there are also days off between games for basketball, not for volleyball, which affects the schedule as well. Louisville is the farthest-east host site and they drew the early time slot. I think it's pretty much that simple. Quote Link to comment
