Keyshawn Johnson has a word of caution for frustrated Nebraska fans who're wondering aloud about the direction of the Husker football program five games into the Mike Riley era.

Negativity can sometimes seep its way into recruiting.

A good article. Of course, Keyshawn is in Riley's corner -- which is a really neat thing, IMO. Cool to see him throw some love Nebraska's way in a time like this.

Please move this to main forum. Also start cracking down on posters who are over the top negative and calling to fire MR already. Ban if necessary. If we can't do that, I'm going to a new forum. I'm sure no one cares if I'm here or not, but I'm just saying. Tired of a select few posters. Shouldn't have to see their nonsense in every thread. I love this place, but can't take that sh#t anymore.

Another part of the McKewon/Nyatawa podcast was a discussion where Sam makes the point that losing, at least in year 1, really doesn't impact recruiting. People understand it's the first year and coaches can make the pitch, "Yes, we like the guys we have here now, but we really need some players like you."

Hey, criticism is great. It shows Nebraska fans care and have high standards. All this talk of firing a coach? in year one? That's nuts. If that isn't some weird form of unhealthy Bo hangover it's something similarly odious.

In the end, it's nothing you can't overcome on the recruiting trail. Although, Keyshawn is also a guy who sees it from the other side, so he should know what he's saying when he refers to those "blood suckers". But largely what this is is another class individual coming out and showing support for Riley. Maybe it'll make some of the most eager to jump to conclusion folks, who want Riley on the hotseat already, take a step back and think "Maybe I'm the unreasonable one right now."

To the guys who are just normal skeptical, you're fine. Not trying to argue for no criticism.
