Redux
As we head into our big battle with Sparty, our shot at finishing the season with a .500 record and a bowl bid ride with it. Regardless of the outcome Saturday night we can all probably assume that Coach Riley will be back next season. With all the vaccancies out there and turmoil firing a 1st year guy would cause, we will likely see what next year brings. So lets play the hypothetical game! Pretty point blank questions, lets see where we stand. Edited November 6, 2015 by NUance This falls in the same category as "Should we fire our coach?"—a Rumorville category. It's a topic worthy of discussion. But not in the Football forum. Carry on. Quote Link to comment
TAKODA
No desire to add to the soap opera that this board has become. Sorry Redux! 1 Quote Link to comment
QMany
Maybe make "Who do you want to replace him?" so it can have multiple options? Quote Link to comment
Redux
No desire to add to the soap opera that this board has become. Sorry Redux! Understandable, thats why I put Riley on the voting ballot too. Quote Link to comment
Redux
Maybe make "Who do you want to replace him?" so it can have multiple options? Considered that, but I wanted to see whonpeople would pick when faced with only one option. Quote Link to comment
Nebhawk
Right now I think its best to stay with Riley. Don't know about his staff, but yeah, Riley should stay. IF by some chance we fire Riley, we know that Eichorst is gone as well. IF that scenario plays out, then we have Trev Alberts and Scott Frost coming, no doubt. Â Now if things play out as most think it will, Riley is here for another year at least, and then we look into the future. I think if Riley is back, Langsdorf and Banker need gone. Bring in Frost and ......Jay Foremen as our next coordinators. Give them two years with Riley to see if things are corrected. If that works for a few years, then we put Frost in position to take the reigns. Hypothetical, but this saves this program from disgrace and brings in some Husker ties. Â Dreaming a dream. This won't happen, but sure would be nice. Quote Link to comment
olddominionhusker
I think you should add "anyone with a pulse not named Mike Riley" as a replacement choice Quote Link to comment
Redux
29 to 29 on the retain Riley vote, interesting. Quote Link to comment
Haspula
If you fire him after a year, no one on that list would come here Quote Link to comment
