  1. 8-1. One loss to a top ten team, on the road, at night, in terrible weather. Yet behind 7 teams with 2 losses. Time to prove it on the field boys. Throttle Wiscy, show no mercy all afternoon********, if you want respect.
  2. No, actually, I'm more than happy to talk about the article I posted, before the people above derailed it and insulted me. Please, tell me where I insulted you. You just chose to stop replying to me.
  3. Yeah, that really sucked when we beat Georgia last year. Or when Sparty crushed Stanford in the Rose Bowl. Oh, UGA was injury depleted though, right? Like, they had to start some Sophomore QB in place of their Senior QB? Oh, you mean like how Taylor, the most prolific QB in Nebraska history, was hurt for the year? And we had to start a freshman QB? To say we haven't done 'anything' to change it is absolutely ridiculous. Is the B1G the worst conference? Yeah, probably. About tied with the ACC I would say. But the gap has shortened between all conferences vastly since the last few years. We're all pretty damn close now. Why are we arguing if we agree the big is likely the worst comference? If the argument here is "we suck but we don't suck as bad as they say we do. Bias!" That's not very compelling. I'm screaming bias from both sides. The B1G is not very good. I also think the SEC isn't that great. All I'm saying is that it goes both ways. Some B1G supporters overrate ourselves, the SEC supporters do the same. We're a lot closer this year than in years past. Wiscy was up 24-7 against LSU late in the 3rd until they were crumbled by injuries. Would they have won if those didn't happen? I really don't think so, but even so, they only lost by 4. And Wiscy is the 3rd-4th best team in the B1G. Right about where LSU is in the SEC. Bias happens on both sides, is all I'm saying. And if you watch the games, I think it's pretty clear it's unwarranted. The SEC plays really, really sloppy football. Just like the B1G.

  5. Last week Walterfootball.com had 3 B1G players going in the top 10 http://walterfootball.com/draft2015.php Cook already said he's staying in school, so make that 2 in the top 10.
  6. Nice, so you admit tacitly that you were wrong. See you later. Hope you go to bed angry tonight, like always. it's obvious you dont spend much time here. I'm actually one the more opitmistic sunshine pumpers around here. Hell, ask Polo how many times me and him have combatted on this team, and who was on what side. So I find this whole insinuation from you that I'm some totally negative a-hole cuz I make some levelheaded and realistic comments very hilarious. Youre a real dandy. I'll give you that. You can go ahead and make your other 6 or so posts for the year, and we'll see you next November. Way to foster a community. Sorry for wanting to begin posting here more seriously. You're right - I made this account 3+ years ago, hence I shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion. Good point. I believe you, you must really be pumping sunshine.

  8. Fom an Espn article grading the one loss teams..... "Nebraska (at Michigan State) Game Score: 44 Losing 27-22 on the road to the team currently ranked fifth in the USA Today coaches' poll seems like a result that should make the "best losses" list. There are two reasons why the Game Score sees it differently. The first is that Nebraska trailed 17-0 at half and 27-3 after three quarters, so the Cornhuskers didn't challenge Michigan State for most of the game. It was one of the rare instances where a team was basically blown out but almost won in the final minute. The second factor is that Michigan State is currently ranked 16th in FPI, and while the eye test probably disputes that assessment, it means that Nebraska's opponent isn't considered to be as good as most people think. But if the Spartans keep winning, it's hard to believe the selection committee would consider this a bad loss for the Huskers." There's due credit, but no one with an objective eye saw that as a close game. Exactly. We both are being hyperbolic. The game wasn't close for the most part, but we made it very close at the end and had a great chance to win. The article even says it's not likely that loss will be seen as a bad for Nebraska. The real consensus is we got beat soundly for 3 quarters, but showed up late and made it into a game, and that the game was not a bad loss akin to losses in 2012 (OSU) and 2013 (UCLA, Iowa).
  9. So you're pulling the old, "I'm going to predict we do terrible, that way if we do well, I'm happy, if we do bad, I was right". Nice man, way to cover all the base Please find the quote where I predicted we would do terrible, cuz I havent. At least I dont think I did. All im saying is if we play this sloppy int he next three games, the conclusion of this regular season will not be pretty. Pretty clear observation in my opinion. I aint predicting anything. I am hoping we succeed. But I do know if we do win, there will be folks wanting to say "see, see. we won". Great I'll say. How do I know this? Cuz I'd like to think I'm the same way. Whatever, it was hyperbole. You know what I meant. The point is, you are predicting that the sky is falling and we have little chance in our next 3 games, that way, if it happens, you were right. If you're wrong, we did well, and hence you'll be happy cuz you're a fan. Congrats man, whatever helps you sleep at night. Me, I'm going to continue to be optimistic, because I'd rather be happy and hopeful than brooding and upset. Do you, though, man. I love these responses. The obvious lack of reading comprehension makes it so easy to reply to. It's a simple copy and paste of something I already said...... So your response is "If I don't, word for word, say exactly what someone says I said, then I didn't say it". Please. There are things called implications.

  12. Because? They were humiliated on the road in their only game on the road against a ranked team. Both losses were very one sided. Only win was a close one against a rapidly falling Ole Miss team. We haven't been humiliated in any of our games. Won't matter after next week when Bama knocks them out., Well if it won't matter then I don't see why we need to get worked in a lather over it. Outside of this board, the consensus is that MSU beat Nebraska soundly. Embarrassing is a sliding scale LOL no, the consensus is most certainly not that. Did you watch the game? Herbstreit and Fowler were gushing over our effort the entire 4th quarter. We dropped only 3-4 spots after losing to them. Please, show me some evidence of people thinking MSU beat us soundly.
  13. I hope you're drunk otherwise this post is really embarrassing. Elaborate please. I'm not college educated, so I clearly dont understand the embarrassing part. I'm stating a pretty sound opinion. And the flag football thing? Take what you want from it, but it's factual. Accurate. And frankly, THAT is the embarrasing part. My son plays qb, and actually dropped a snap today. Inside the 5 on 4th down. He was oober down on himself. Like almost in tears, cuz lookin back it coulda cost us the game. In order to keep his confidence up, I just soundly explained to him that sometimes things happen. when we got home I decided to go through the DVR to show him that even Husker players have trouble with things like that sometimes. Weird how it didnt take long at all scanning through recordings to find a good half dozen fumbled snaps. Jesus, this comparing your flag football team to Nebraska is getting ridiculous and annoying. Good, your flag football team can snap the ball correctly, congrats to the kids. So since I coached little league baseball, can I compare how my team does to MLB team? Man you see that pro shortstop make that error? The SS on my little league baseball team has made that play so many times...must be so embarrassing for that pro shortstop... This. Thank you. I can't even reply to these people. So much negativity for a team that is 8-1 . . . it's mindblowing. It's honestly as if people here are enjoying being angry at this point. Am I satisfied with our team right now? No. Am I completely, utterly, disappointed? Absolutely not. Dear Lord people, find a middle ground.
  14. I hope you're drunk otherwise this post is really embarrassing.
  15. As I've said before, posts like these make someone lose all credibility. Garbage for at least half a game, week in and week out, year after year??? FAU, Fresno St, Miami, Illinois, and Northwestern this year? How about Southern Miss last year? Illinois? Purdue? Southern Miss, Arkansas State, Idaho State, Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa in 2012? Chattanooga, Wyoming, Minnesota, Michigan State, and Iowa in 2011? I will gladly keep going through all of Pelini's years if you want. There are at least 15 more examples. Please, stop exaggerating. That is the #1 problem that plagues this fan base. Should we be happy with the names I listed above? Besides a few (Miami, UM, MSU, Iowa twice), probably not. But to act like we are ALWAYS terrible is just disgusting and disingenuous. R E L A X, man.
  16. You may end up being right. But let's play 'em first before we chalk up the L. Exactly this. Have we played a difficult schedule? No, not really. But the amount of people here (seems like 90+%) claiming we are not good and have no chance in 2 weeks in Mad town and can't succeed, etc is honestly insane. Did we play well against Purdue? No. Guess what - we still won by 3 TD's. Did we play well against Rutgers? No. Guess what - we still won by 18. Did we play well against Sparty? No. Guess what - we only lost by 5 and had a very good chance to win - one dropped pass away from a victory, on the road, at night, against a top 10 team. The announcers praised our effort all night. This team is good. When we are clicking, we can hang with probably just about anyone. The open question is, can we start to put at least a 3 quarter game together (because, heads up, there are hardly any teams in CFB history who consistently play 4 strong quarters - hell, Osborne's first national championship team played one good quarter). If we can string some good plays, possessions, and quarters together, we can definitely win out. No reason to be optimistic? We're 8-1. We have done this once in the last 11 years. Previous Pelini teams would have dropped a game against McNeese, Rutgers, or Purdue, and usually would've laid down and died against Sparty. This season is not over, Beck is not a complete idiot, and we can still win the B1G, and even the Nat'l Champ. Let's not give up, or give into pessimism, just yet.
  17. Put. Newby. In. The. Game. He got 5+ yards every time he touched the ball. Why is he not playing? He is a slightly less skilled, younger, abdulllah. Cross is a fullback trying to play RB.
  18. Can someone just actually post what happened please? Thanks
  19. Carter is not out for the year. From McKewon's twitter: "Per Bo: Cethan Carter "out for a couple weeks" Bell and Davie should return for NW. Reilly should be back, too."
  20. Disagree. There are 100 ways (ok not a 100) to cut block, legally. There's maybe like 5 and most of them can be countered in the exact same way. The moment you start leaving your feet, you're gunna set your self up to get hurt worse than if you just keep hands on. LOL you don't just "jump" over a cut block. Go to 4:30, Gregory does exactly that. He did it against Fresno, too. I'll find that clip if you'd like as well.

  22. The more Randy gets cut, the better he will be against it. He has the ability to simply jump right over anyone cutting him, he just has to be able to read the cut coming and act accordingly. The more he sees it, the more often he'll jump it. I think it's going to become more and more risky to cut him rather than just going with a double team.
  23. Bo better have learned his lesson from McNeese. Illinois can exploit our weaknesses. You cant game plan for one team the week your playing another team and expect your players to take the opponent seriously.Any evidence to the game planning for other teams as opposed to the one leading up? Just curious Fowler... Of course I don't have evidence. It happened thou. They worked on pass plays for Fresno during McNeese prep. Something doesn't add up here.
  24. Banderas should not be playing right now, at least against teams who spread us out. I will admit, I'm prone to dislike him because of his off the field issues, but even barring that... he was terrible last night. He wasn't a step slow, he was 2 steps. When he was in a spot to make a tackle, he whiffed. He reminds me so much of Stafford - it's like he just bounces off people. It's hard to explain because it seems so weird to say, but it's as if his pads are a bouncy house - every time he goes for a tackle, he just bounces off the runner. He cost us 50+ yards in the first half alone just on easily made tackles that he whiffed on. Maybe it wouldn't work in the B1G schedule, I obviously don't know. But I would like to see us go 'nickel' with any of the 3 following on the field at any time: Anderson/Santos/Kalu/Cockrell/Roach. This is even if they are playing teams with 2 TE's. Those guys have all shown flashes (some more than others) and I think they are our 5 best players at the mid level of the field.
  25. Brown kicked off once against Fresno and put it through the endzone. We will be fine.
