  1. Since our depth at DB is so good, I would just make sure the DB's have a few leg cramps. Nothing pisses off a fast pace offense running tempo like a leg cramp.
  2. I cant believe Save By The Bells "Screech" Dustin Diamond will be at the game. Didn't know you were a Duck's fan.
  3. That's a bold statement. Royce Freeman is probably in the Top 5 this year for RB's. He is averaging like 9 YPC. There defense is not very good, but they still have some weapons that can hurt you & they can do it quickly.
  4. It would be amazing if Frost & UCF beat them. UCF is not a good team going 0-12 last year. I know it would look bad on the conference, but man would that be a shot to the berries for this guy.
  5. This would be my vote. Matt was on his way to a great Jr season before he broke his leg. Still was 2nd team all big 12 only playing half the games. He missed a whole year & came back, but was never the deep threat he once was. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=998
  6. I agree with this. I also think it was the reason for his horrible throwing mechanics. I think the throwing problems really developed with him trying to play injured and not being able to step into his throws. We also didn't have a coach on staff to help him move forward. Here is a video of the first 4 games. Really watch Martinez throw before his injury. It wasn't perfect, but it was much better then any other time in is career.
  7. I don't think stupidity counts as an injury.
  8. That would be a great question to pose to Harvey & Tom. I'm not sure the SEC wanted us, or that the core values of the SEC are what we wanted for the University of Nebraska system. But it's a heck of a question. I don't think NU would have even considered the SEC, unless Oklahoma & Texas were going to leave the conference. I also don't see the SEC wanting NU without OU as a package deal. NU got they best option in my opinion. The Big Ten fits NU better then the SEC, ACC or Pac 12. Those were the only really options NU would have had if they wanted to leave & had not been invited to the Big Ten.
  9. Here is a better question, what would have happened had Solich's '01 team not lost to a Miami team full of future NFL players & a couple NFL All-stars? A team almost everyone ranks top 5 all-time. The last 2 games of 2001 were bad for Solich & Co. I really think Solich could have putted along with 9 win seasons had he been retained nothing great, but nothing as bad as Callahan/Cosgrove.
  10. Had the tackle on the play done anything other then dive at his laces & miss, this play would have gone a long way down the field.
  11. Last years talks were about making all freshman redshirt, so they could get use to college life. I wonder what the percentage looks like for what they talk about vs what gets done. It has to be amazingly low.
  12. Just wait, by page 6 it will be a hire Scott Frost thread.
  13. not gonna lie, I have 2 pairs of Adidas running/athletic shoes. The boost foam is comfy as hell to move around in. 2 pairs of Adidas Bounce for me gotta have white & black. They are getting a little old now. This is what I'm thinking I will get next.
  14. Disagree. NU wasn't that far ahead of the other top 30 to 40 programs, especially by the 90s. NU is considered the birth place of college S&C. This statement is a joke. I would love to see one article to back up your comment. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13175331/how-former-pole-vaulter-sparked-college-football-training-revolution
  15. This has always been a grey area in my book. For Solich, all the so called experts declared that the Husker offensive style was dying & would not work anywhere else. Not a lot of schools that would want to take a chance on a guy who was really only known for that style of offense & was struggling on the defensive side of the ball. As for Pelini, I think more jobs would have come available if he would have waited. His attitude limited his choices more then his coaching abilites did. He basically chose to go home & coach. He is still getting paid from NU.
  16. 2 pages & no talk of Trev Alberts. This thread is disappointing.
  17. Why, can you name another year where NU started off with a 2/3 star & two 4 star players? You are right NU has done well recruiting OL's & has done ok on DL's. The difference with this pickup is the ability to draw other players. KJJ's name alone will help NU land a few other players. Marquel Dismuke would have never came to NU had it not been for KJ Sr setting up the trip for those guys. You should be excited about this committment he is only going to help Riley & staff lockdown more talent. This could end up being one of the most highly rated classes NU has seen in a long time. I would sure love to see NU pull in a top 10 class. Holmes & Gebbia will go a long way to helping & we now have a guy in their locker room pointing NU's way. On top of everything we got a solid WR commit.
  18. I know you don't want to throw your starting QB under the bus, but Armstrong added to the defenses struggles. Big plays seemed to follow quick turnovers.
  19. This recruitment reminded me so much of Andrus Peat, well except the whole good guys won part. I am a lot more comfortable today with the Riley hire. Him & his staff have done a better job recruiting then I remember Pelini ever doing. The last class had a very bad end with no DL's in it, but Riley was quick to do what needed to be done. My only concern with him/staff now is play calling & really we have only seen 1 season of play calling. Someone was pointing out in another thread that the average player rating for our recruits, right now, is better than it has been in recent years. I don't follow recruiting that closely, but I think it's fair to say the KJJ recruitment is a bigger 'splash' than any Pelini recruit. I don't mean that as an insult, but, I don't think Pelini would've ever won someone like KJJ because of the offensive style and recruiting focuses at the time. Now, it's all about capitalizing and momentum. I always thought the previous staff didn't do a good enough job in this area. For example, the incredible talent/production that was Ndamukong Suh seemed like the perfect catalyst to help Nebraska recruit great DL prospects and perform at a high level. That never really happened. I heard from many people that Suh was their go to speech for DL recruiting & it got played out really fast.

  21. Yeah I just noticed it above. I was lucky enough to see the video before I knew. I was also on Bleacher Report at 9:55 waiting for it to be posted.
