  1. I dont care if they are 5 and 0, we are just stinking up the place on defense. This is as bad a Ohio State.
  2. Tennessee Jed? Bertha? Magnolia? St Stephen? Althea? Beginia? The Other One?
  3. Well....don't leave us in suspense. Enlighten us as to which two things might happen, or, I guess WILL happen.
  4. Send the terrapin back to the station with a ā€œLā€ >> That sounds like a Grateful Dead reference. Yes?
  5. I must say I'm surprised. I made a simple observation about a thought that occurred to me while working outside. I actually looked for another thread to put the post into, but couldn't find a good one where it fit. Now it is at 14 pages of comments. I guess I probably ought to get an agent to handle my fame?! LOL. Even though my original thought is no longer part of the thread. Heh heh.
  6. Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts 23 DONU 20 Passing 170 Running 135
  7. I was going to make a snarky comeback, but then I saw it was you, and I generally respect your comments. So I'll just pout quietly. Happy!? Heh heh. To my credit, even the vaunted, hallowed Steve Sipple made the same 8-4 point today on the radio. So I'm pretty much at the top of the commentary world I guess. Now...off to my corner.
  8. You there. Go sit in the corner! Where is that Air Marshall when you need him. This thread is being hijacked!!!!! Helllllppppp!!!!!
  9. CAN YOU PEOļ»æļ»æPLļ»æE READ!?ļ»æļ»æ Iā€™m a UNL grad. LOL..that made me truly laugh out loud. So am I by the way. Back in the day, UN-L was referred to as University of No Learning, UN-O was University of No Opportunity and UN-K was University of NO Knowledge! Thanks for the laugh.
  10. Just occurred to me while working outside this afternoon. If you look at the Husker's last 12 games, we are 8-4. Not koolaid material, but still not bad, considering the ash heap we are climbing out of.
  11. It is lack of execution. It is lack of depth of talent in most positions. It is deficient S&C over the past 15 years. It is coaching. 1. If you are scrambling to put depth on the field, execution is going to suffer, pure and simple. 2. If you have a lack of depth, then practices don't really hone the top players beyond where they are already at. Hard to prepare for an all conference tackle when you are facing a second year 2 or 3 star. 3. S&C doesn't fix things in a year or two. It just doesn't. 4. Scott has the brightest future of most any coach in the BIG, and I believe that. But he's in year 4 of head coaching. Tom Osborn said he was a MUCH better coach in year 10 as a head coach than he was in year 5. I'm not going to worry, fret or curse about any of these things for at least two more full seasons after this one. And I feel if Scott can't turn it around, it won't get turned around.
  12. I kind of get it, but I kind of don't too. Seems like there is such an overwhelming, deep need to blame somebody. I love when the team wins, but it doesn't effect my life in the least. If a loss truly has a major effect on your life, that is sad. I think it is possible to revel in every win AND not get depressed or angry with a loss. Unless you're gambling on the game, but that is a whole different story.
  13. The highlight for me was when my granddaughter yelled "Grandpa, we are down stairs with Football!" When I got to their house. She, of course, owns me.
  14. I was reminded the true joy of college football when the kicker made the field goal. Record and nothing else mattered, he was on top of the world.
  15. Nebraska 34 tONU (the other NU) 24 Passing 290 Running 222
  16. Especially if we can switch to that formation without having to switch players. Keep the defense guessing and not allowing them to substitute based on which formation they see.
  17. I don't believe I argued that AM has played well. Everyone said he was great, to be in the Heisman race even. So, your comment about Vedral and Luke being good because "everyone says they are" is not in the least valid. My core point is, you, nor I nor anyone on this board has seen those two in high pressure game situations enough to know they would perform better than AM. You do not spend every day of practice evaluating the players like the coaches do. I'm not even saying that one of them might not be better, but I am saying we've got nothing to base that on other than hope.
  18. Doesn't matter, as long as we're not incontinent.
  19. Not necessarily just this game, but I learned if I'm ever reincarnated at a football player, I want to be the second team QB and get all the love.
  20. And what is it you know about Vedral and Luke that make you so sure they'd be better than AM has been. I'll supply your answer. You know nothing to support that suggestion. You only feel frustrated and 'believe in your heart' that they would do better. It is interesting that you have better insight than the coaches that work with those three day in and day out.
  21. Which, is still better than what Iowa has....heh heh....
  22. Created in Nebraska...every Huskerfan should not only know how to spell it, but should drink it with fervor...regularly. :-)
  23. I will admit I was distracted by my amazing granddaughter during much of the game, but I have a two questions about passing: 1. How many times did we target our tight ends. I saw Allen catch one late, don't recall any other catches or targets. 2. How many different players were targeted on all passes? Seems we are running with a very limited scope of plays.
