  1. Good post (s) and a lot of truth. However, I choose to not worry about what I can't control, and not worry about what hasn't happened. For now, I'm just happy to watch a football team that seems to be finding the passion for the game again and one that could end up being very dangerous. If they faulter, I'll throw things at my tv, cuss a little, well ok, a lot, and then I'll be ready to support them the next week.
  2. Doesn't matter to me whos idea it was! It was awesome. Finally brought some intimidation to our house. I just hope that even against lesser opponents the rest of the stadium follows the students because just like we don't want players to have let downs against those opponents, the team doesn't want the fans to be quiet for lesser opponents! They feed off of it.
  3. Now to make the stadium like that for EVERY game, even the supposed gimme games! A stadium should be hostile for the opponent, not welcoming! Great job to those there, it was noticed on TV and I remember thinking, "finally, our stadium is tough on the opponent"
  4. Why do you care? Fact is: We won, you lost. Physically dominated your criminal canes. You're still Thug U, nothings changed, never will.
  5. Guys an idiot and THAT is not journalism. That is propoganda. Horrible call by the official and Bo had every right to be pissed and I think handled it just fine. Not out of hand at all.
  6. I see. I guess I'm not very observant. I didn't realize anything was for sale. No biggie. But I'll sneak in a comment in the fact I actually liked it!
  7. Agreed. That, and the way recruiting goes today, it's a lot harder to find those diamonds in the rough. Guys like Zach Weigert and Aaron Taylor either weren't well known or didn't fit the prototype that people wanted for their offensive lineman back then, but they found a home at DoNU. Absolutely. Imagine that those two guys weren't well known, lol!
  8. The problem is that more teams now want those dual threat QBs like what we used to get. So, instead of being able to get a top dual threat QB fairly easy, now, we are competing against 60% of the rest of college football for those guys. And, some of those are powerhouse programs right now closer to recruiting hotbeds. Maybe. I guess I never considered the qb's we used to have as dual threats. They were best running the option and proficient at play action passes. Not so much in the downfield pass territory. Find the best option qb out there and teach him to throw the short, high percentage PA passes. Yeah, I know some of them could throw downfield a little too. And definitely on the those programs being closer to the recruiting hotbeds.
  9. Some sort of violation? Just curious as to why we're not able to comment on them.
  10. Because we ran a system different than everyone else. So even though we might get the 25th best QB or less even, he was the best to run the option. Same goes for the other positions. And they developed players, and walk on players. Running the system we have now we have to recruit harder against other schools. Not saying I don't like it, although I do believe our old offense would still work just fine today.
  11. Unfortunately, this "calling out" could go one of two ways. The oline could take it personal, and want to get better and do a better job or they could take it PERSONAL and it could be the beginning of a falling out. Let's hope they're men enough to see the true meaning in what was said and get to work to get better.
  12. Sure. I completely ruptured both my meniscus' and had surgery a few years ago. They had me in physical therapy the next day. It's simply a matter of swelling, flexibility, and stability that determines return to play. I was full strength in 1 month, BUT mine wasn't as minor as it sounds like his is. I've also had athletes have a scope and be full go in two weeks. Generally 2 weeks is the norm. I'm sure with the resources available he could be ready sooner if need be. I am not a doctor just sharing my experiences.
  13. So true. Wasn't even surprised when I saw it. I'm surprised he didn't find a way to get the kid on his shoulders and run in the stadium with him! That kid (man) is right in so many ways!
  14. I didn't see him pushed around too bad either. Some times he had a "read" assignment and he wan't supposed to get a push. The times he was turned loose he had some good bull rushes and was able to get some pressure. Did he have 5 sacks or anything wild? No, but it seemed he played his assignments pretty well. Had a couple tackles and one for a 1 yard loss. He'll only get better. I think a couple times they double teamed him so he must have made them uncomfortable enough to draw the double. Just keep in mind, none of us know what his assignment is on each play so sometimes face value is mis-leading. Time will tell, if he's not getting it done he will drop on the depth chart. If not, I'm guessing he's doing what he's supposed to.
  15. Yep, and I was around for those times and before. And during those times one of the complaints was the boys just didn't play with the passion as many thought they should. Everyone thought TO's offense was outdated and he didn't know how to win the big ones. He could only win regular season games that weren't as important. Except, there wasn't social media to enable them to hear or see every little comment. It was limited to the OWH. I also remember everyone and their dog calling for Charlie McBrides head for years, but then that was forgotten and he was a defensive guru/god after the titles. That doesn't compute with your earlier point about how back in the day they knew the fans loved their coaches and that helped them win. By back in the day, I mean the championship days when everyone raved at the passion the guys had. Nitpick if you must.
  16. You're new around here. Don't you know that every thread gets derailed into a "Bo must go" thread? Not sure why it's allowed, but whatever.Anyhow, you're even more defensive of Bo than I am...... Is Eagle1 really HCBP?? I'm not new, been on a looong time, just don't post much. No I'm not HCBP, don't even know who that is or what you're talking about. I am not so much defensive of Bo as I am defensive of the program, all the coaches, and the kids. I have a different "perspective" than many, as far as what negative fans do to the program as a whole and especially the kids. No matter what anyone says, it IS distracting to the kids, coaches, and the program. Kids are on social media whether they're told not to or not, and some of those kids read threads and walk away with a seed of doubt about their future, the programs future, and their coaches future. Therefore, those kids can never fully buy into the system or the program and then we wonder why sometimes there is lackluster performance and kids not playing with passion. Back in the day, guys knew the fans loved TO and loved them and they fed off of it. Just like now, sometimes they feed off the negative. I think you may be giving places like this a smidge too much credit on their clout. You'd be amazed at what gets in kids' heads. Even college kids. Doesn't have to be a credible source, they're still young enough to let it creep up on them and plant that seed.

  19. That's my point. Took one comment to fire people up and have it cosidered a personal attack. But yet, it's ok to post opinions all over the place about someones performance, or peoples perception that there is a lack thereof, and how that person should be fired all due to OPINIONS. Opinion is one thing, and everyone has a right to it, and personal attacks are frowned upon. Yet, it's ok to attack a mans integrity, work ethic, generosity, passion, how he treats players, etc. without even truly knowing who he is or what he stands for? How about instead of wasting time trying to justify why our coach should be fired already when we haven't even played a game this season, people spend time supporting kids, coaches, and the program. And don't even start by telling me it's your (our) rights because it's a public university. Doesn't matter. I get it, it's a message board, and people have opinions. But how about supporting the man and the program instead of trying to tear it and him down? Best fans in the country we are not.
  20. great argument. win over your crowd by calling out their work ethic and then acknowledge that hiring someone new (bo was someone we hired after firing someone) has not worked out. Isn't everyone who has been successful at their job gotten said job after someone was fired or otherwise moved on? But to answer the OP's question. I'd say if Bo makes it to Indy he's fine. If he doesn't, regardless of record, all bets are off. Lol, didn't acknowledge any of the sort. I suppose someone who wants so desperately to be right could make it sound that way. Sometimes truth hurts and denial is the 1st sign of guilt. It's ok, I'm sure your work ethic will improve.
  21. Meh, move on folks. Nothing here to see, just another fire Bo thread. Wonder how many of you would still have your jobs if someone critqued you as closely. Not many as many of you are posting on this board while at work while you're supposed to be productive. Many of you think firing a coach and hiring someone new is always the answer, yeah because it has worked so well every other time.
  22. They have not all been announced yet. More will be announced later today or tomorrow.
  23. Personally, I love his passion. If I was a kid, having the passion I still do, I'd play for Bo in a heart beat! To me it's motivating and I'd love it because he want's it as bad as me! There you go, good for some, not others. Players have to decide if they take it personal or if they use it as coaching and let it motivate them!
