It's also important that people understand how science works. Much of the critiques of climate change focus on the fact that our models are not extremely accurate predictors. It's important to note that a few are pretty close, we cannot experimentally manipulate this, and that constant re-evaluation of models is central to science.

The only sound argument I see is that it's a waste of money we could be spending on ourselves. That is selfish and short-sighted, but also logically flawed. It relies in part on the belief climate change isn't real and there isn't going to be a huge market for renewable energy in the future.

So once again, Trump will cede another important position to the Chinese or Europe or whomever else will fill the void. He'll sell out for short term profit, from Big Energy and his base. I'm guessing a key determinant of this decision are not the ramifications but the need to rally his base. How sad.
