  1. If Northwestern beats us, who are their three losses? We are their hardest remaining game. That's a very good question. I hadn't sufficiently reviewed their remaining conference schedule, which is scary easy outside of us and Iowa. I'd gladly take the possibility of losing to NW (and then going to the CCG) off the table. That's a must win, period. In fact, I think they will probably end up 6-2, which still is OK for us if we beat them.
  2. Because we lost to MSU, which towers over each of those teams in every category? Don't think so.
  3. Easy. We lose one game to someone besides Wisconsin or Iowa, but beat Wisconsin AND Iowa. We are 6-2. Already ahead of Wisconsin by tie breaker whether they win out or lose out. Iowa going 7-1? COME ON GET SERIOUS. Northwestern going 6-2 including a win against us? Doubt it. Northwestern is our lone additional loss, and goes 5-3, who cares? Minnesota? LOL Others? LOL
  4. I enjoy the hell out of the games. If you will only accept success, and then define that by behavior that would keep us locked in the top 10- perhaps top 5- then I can see how this would all be very disappointing to you. Beat Miami!! They were patsies... Beat Illinois! They suck... Beat McNeese State! Barely. Now everyone knows our true character. Lose to the #10 team on the road by 5! I'm gone for a year or two, maybe longer. LOL, come on! ETA: Tommy Armstrong was hammered around and in visible pain when he got up of a table and went in to charge what must have seemed like impossible odds. No moral victories, and I'm OK with that. We lost, but I'm sticking with this crew.
  5. So, all it takes to make you happy is eight wins in a row? Seems totally reasonable. Why didn't you just say so?
  6. Seems fair as hell. Also, it's nice that other teams can find out how dangerous Northwestern can be right now. We have been warned and they are, obviously, no MSU. I like this thing going forward.
  7. You're seizing on every bit of negative this has to offer and gnashing your teeth with bitterness. So we lost to a top 10 team on the road that we trailed in rank by 9 spots. We weren't expected to win and we kept it close. By this keeps happening, I'm not sure what exactly you mean. We're still in the drivers seat to get another shot. The next three games are more than winnable.
  8. Yeah... IF we win, Sparty will be top 20, but definitely not top 10. Since we'll still be undefeated we should make a huge jump. Not sure if you're being serious. If we beat them, they'll drop to about 18 and we'll move up 3 spots to 16. If we lose, we drop out of the top 25 and they stay where they are, perhaps moving ahead of any non top 5 team that gets its first loss. Incredible biased S^&% voters on the AP poll.
  9. Exactly. Miami was provoking Gregory badly and then doubling up on him brazenly. I'm glad he didn't get hurt with that giant piece of crap planted on his legs after every play.
  10. Same thing happened to LeBron James in an unheated arena that was cooler than Fresno State's stadium during last years playoffs. I wouldn't worry too much about his conditioning. It's not exactly getting warmer.
  11. Lot of great posts. I've been noticing Gerry, too, along with some defensive players really putting pressure on opposing QB's. The player I've been most impressed with besides AA might be Kenny Bell. When he's not injured, he's absolutely explosive- opens up the field and makes our passing game pretty sick. I know he's not exactly under the radar, but he's fairly critical IMO.
  12. Constant slip ups? You've missed a lot of games. Too bad, since these might have improved your mood and informed your diatribe.
  13. Please God let it be minor. I love Randy Gregory.
  14. Maybe they're remembering the last time Alabama didn't win a National Title and had to settle for an MSU team ranked five spots higher than them in a bowl game blowout. It was ugly.
  15. Yeah, we're going to have people busting down the door. If I were a strong coach, doing well where I was at, I'd LOVE to move here and tangle with this media where a loss isn't just a loss- It's an open door to rampant, repeated speculation in post-game pressers about whether you will work here any more. How long would this tone be fun for you? "Should you be here coach? Do you feel you've proven yourself to Husker Nation adequately after this devastating loss to XXXX?"
  16. I'm OK with not playing Michigan every year as I think there are teams that we match up better with and are likely to beat with more consistency. That said, I hope one of these two stalwarts represents the division in the CCG on an ongoing basis.
  17. The Huskers/MSU game is looking real interesting again. I agree that our D doesn't get as much credit as MSU's- even if our Offense managed to make their job harder with turnovers and, of course, that muffed punt. If we're going to turn the corner that we all want to see happen, this game in six days is the time to do so. Win or Lose, we need to make it a contest. Win it, and we'll get the recognition we will deserve.
  18. He's becoming a monster!! So inspirational watching this kid lead this defense. The whole D seems to have been lit on fire. Whatever it is, these kids are doing us proud!
  19. Are they almost out of the car you want?
  20. The last drive was a dream come true for believers in tenacity and perseverance. Bo doing everything he could to give the team that last 1:20, AA of course as mentioned, and Kellog making very tight, fast throws to get the 33 yards needed to get us in position for the final bomb. I'd probably still give AA the MVP, if I had to pin it down. How about the defense, also dealing with injuries, deciding that three possessions of hell from NW was enough, and turning into a stone wall for the rest of the game? Can't remember a game with more screaming at the end. Took 4 times watching the end to even hear what the announcer was saying. Pure magic. I almost don't care how good MSU looks right now. I'd love to see a win out, but even 3 out of 4 would be great for this team right now.
  21. That makes no sense. Did you mean something else?
  22. If Bell catches that ball, he's going to get pounded about three times on the way down and probably land square on his shoulder, head, or neck. A lot of the throws effectively punished our receivers, requiring them to go down flailing hard for the last bit of extension, or position themselves to get killed by tacklers eager to knock it out. Yes, they should have caught more, but it was not at all a well thrown game by Martinez.
  23. No way in hell if we lose the MSU game. We lose that one and we likely don't go to the CCG at 7-1. Who do you think is going to beat them twice if we don't beat them once?
  24. We can lose to Michigan OR Northwestern and will still be fine as long as we beat MSU. That's the key game to all of this. Trip up and it's a tough path since they probably won't then lose twice.
