  3. Curious to see how he does. If he earns a starting spot, he's going to be very good. But he could easily not play much at all.
  4. Yeah, you're right. I didn't quite read Atbone95's post right. I though he meant he already had another offer for this year.
  5. Could be. But he's been pretty consistent about tweeting Husker-related things the entire time. I think he's hoping to get an offer and want us to know he's still interested.
  6. Perhaps the explaination is there just isn't as much talent in the state. The scouting services are seeing it. Coaches at other programs are seeing it. Basically the only reason not to recognize it is if you don't want it to be true (no pun intended).
  7. I think that's what he's saying: when he got the offer in HS, he didn't think twice about committing and now he can't stop thinking about how much he wants to be here.
  8. Robin Washut ‏@RobinWashut now7 seconds ago #Nebrasketball fans, you’re going to want to watch this Q&A with 2015 signee Ed Morrow. http://www.csnchicago.com/preps/get-know-simeons-ed-morrow …
  9. Now look at those older lists - where there were obviously more offers, and see if that was legit or there were too many.
  10. 2014 - Harrison Phillips 2011 - David Sutton, Zach Sterup, Ryne Reeves, Daniel Davie 2010 - Andrew Rodriguez, Jake Cotton, Tyler Evans, Bronson Marsh 2009 - CJ Zimmerer, Cole Pensick 2008 - Collins Okafor, Shane Prater, Baker Steinkuhler, tim Blere, Trevor Robinson, Sean Fisher, Micah Kreikemeier, Shaun Prater, John Levorson 2007 - Niles Paul, Harland Gunn, Mike Caputo, Jared Crick 2006 - DJ Jones, Ricky Henry, Ben Martin, Tony Purvis, Corey Young 2005 - Derek Meyer, Zach Potter, Jeff Souder, Robert Rands 2004 - Allan Evridge, Brandon Gunn, Mike Huff, Ty Steinkuhler, Andy Christensen, Clayton Sievers, Cortney Grixby, Jake Galusha Used 247's lists
  11. That's quite a stretch the new staff surpassed the old staff's offers when all that is there is guys the old staff offered.
  12. Thanks for doing this again, Sker. +1 Richardson signed with Kentucky and Lundie didn't make it. The Miami crowd really fizzled. Should have been a great time to reel them in but the only three we got were already committed. Disappointing. Also, That's why I think having an early signing period in December (without earlier visits) will actually hurt Nebraska. Slightly different circumstances with the coaching change be we got six commits who visited after that signing date. What if they signed somewhere else before they visited? 25% of our OVs took place after when the early deadline would be (not counting Neal and Decker).
  13. SkerChicago does a good job of keeping up on the official visits here. Not sure about unofficial visits.
  14. Garrett Rand ‏@rand3218 27m27 minutes ago Blessed to have received an offer today from Stanford University #StanU #TheFarm
  15. Perhaps this is the part being missed? OWH Kind of grasping at straws and it's unclear how the exact exachange went from the transcript but it would leave open the door that there was some attrition before the semester started. If that's the case, we should know when spring practices start - assuming they're still open to reporters.
  16. Obligatory Chatelain in the title. Apparent Dirk hasn't had enough bad things to write about lately (/sarcasm) but this is an article he filed today. Not to trample on a man's grave (so to speak) but kinds of sheds lite on how Frank was recruiting and what direction we were headed.
  17. I would say CB Eric Lee and LB Dedrick Young will have the most immediate impact. Lee is the most field-ready and Young is a freak athlete at a position that is really thin. Both are already enrolled as well. Also, Matt Snyder has a good chance to play early. Over their careers, I'd say those three and the Davis twins are at the top. The twins will have to wait their turn a little but will be have an impact when they get on the field. I also think Stanley Morgan will catch a lot of passes and I like the potential of our OLine.
  18. So I assume he'll take over Anderson's #13.
  19. Dan Hoppen ‏@danhoppen 2h2 hours ago #Huskers commit Adrienne Talan says he was given the nickname "Friday the 13th" by his HS coach for the nightmares he inflicts on opponents.
  20. Found this and posted it in the Nebraska HS Players thread but the more I looked at it, the more I thought it could use it's own thread: NebraskaHSFootball ‏@NebHSFootball 2h2 hours ago 186 players from Nebraska high schools signed a LOI today. Who and where? http://nebraskahsfootball.com/update-2015-recruiting-notebook-player-signings/ … #nebpreps At first glance, that looks like a really good number of kids going on to the next level. And it is. But when you look a little closer, I think it's pretty telling about the amount of talent in the state. And why it's probably not accurate to complain too much about the Huskers not offering a lot of in-state guys. This was the fist year in several (5?) that the Huskers took a recruit out of OPS, and they got two (Neal and Decker). That is pretty telling in and of itself. If there isn't much talent coming out of by far the biggest district in the state, we're really behind the eight ball. By my count - someone correct me if I'm wrong - the Metro (OPS, Papillion-LaVista, Millard, Bellevue and Prep) produced exactly three Division I signees this year. Not Power 5. Not even just FBS. All of Division I. Three. The Huskers got two and CJ Johnson went to Wyoming. Lincoln produced none. No one with a D-1 scholarship. To be fair, a couple guys passed up an FCS offer to walk on for the Huskers, but still. That's pretty much a complete lack of talent in by far the two biggest cities in the state. That is roughly 44% of the total high school enrollment in the state - and the ones that overall have the most access to programs and coaching - that produced three D-1 prospects. So I don't think blaming coaches for not having enough interest in the state is really that valid. It's not just Nebraska that's passing on these guys. KState, Iowa, Iowa State and Kansas all grab Nebraska kids on a regular basis and all have lower standards than the Huskers. But they're still passing. I definitely hope the new staff looks as hard as they can at local kids. But it's not going to surprise me if the results are any different than they have been.

  22. Huskers slightly under for last year, slightly over for the entire period. Oregon State #4 for the entire period but 16th from the bottom last year. About what I'd expect - they had some really good years awhile back but hadn't done as well lately.
