  2. Possible, but not likely. A two-loss SEC champ will almost assuredly still be in. But Miss St. losing to Alabama & Ole Miss, Miss losing to Auburn, Alabama losing to Auburn, Auburn losing to Georgia and Georgia losing the SEC championship game would put them all with two losses, so it's not all that far-fetched. If Georgia loses a game in the regular season then wins the SEC championship game, it would be interesting. That would mean a relatively-low-ranked Georgia team with two losses would be the SEC champ and would be tough for even a potentially one-loss team that didn't win the West to make that jump. Or even one step crazier - a five-way tie in the West Link
  3. What exactly is Nyatawa trying to say here? That we ran the ball only three times in the second half? That having thrown two touchdown passes, we should also try to throw more touchdown passes? That it was wrong to give the bulk of carries to Cross and Newby in a game already decided? That we ran basically the same three plays over and over again in the second half. They just looked different because the were out of different formations. We scored three TDs on the same play, it just looks different from the outside. I think he's pointing out that our offense looks like we're doing a lot of different things because of all the different formations we use but we actually have a few base plays that we run all the time.
  4. Dan Hoppen ‏@danhoppen 2m2 minutes ago Ameer Abdullah needs 1,193 yards to break the FBS all-purpose yards record. Would be 199 yards/game w/o Big Ten Champ. game; 171 with it.

  6. Considering we have some tougher opponents down the stretch, his averages of 156 rushing yards and 211 all-purpose yards are likely to go down somewhat. But he's currently on pace for 1,873 rushing yards 2,535 through the end of the regular season (no CCG or Bowl). I think he's going to get invited to the ceremony anyway but if he gets close to 2000 yards rushing and 2500 all-purpose yards, he'll make a run at the trophy.

  10. Auburn and Ole Miss play this week. It will be interesting to see how far the loser drops. Utah @ Arizona State in a matchup of one-loss teams. TCU @ West Virginia and Arizona @ UCLA could shake things up with two one-loss teams on the road against two-loss teams. Also, Florida State @ Louisville and Stanford @ Oregon are two games that it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Top 5 team falls. Florida State on the road in the middle of the week (never a good place to be) after a big win and an extended layoff with mounting off-the-field issues. FSU also hasn't looked great in several games. Stanford's offense is down this year but their defense still looks very good and they've usually slowed Oregon pretty well. Fun fact: Oregon is #8/#10/#30/#20 in Scoring Offense/Total Offense/Rushing Offense/Passing Offense. Nebraska is #9/#8/#6/#80
  11. Nebraska Basketball ‏@HuskerHoops 42m42 minutes ago #Huskers/Royals fans, we will have Game 7 of the World Series on the @PinnacleArena big screens following the scrimmage tomorrow night. Nebraska Basketball ‏@HuskerHoops 34m34 minutes ago Sorry #Giants fans, you are more than welcome to stay after the scrimmage to watch Game 7. #GBR
  12. I would guess the afternoon kick will help. I'll do what I can.
  13. I think there are some pretty noticeable differences that show they really didn't care about the polls.

  15. If Mississippi State and Florida State win out, the previous system would have worked fine. If either of those teams lose, I get the feeling it will be much better - and exciting - to see two more teams who will be very close as far as who "deserves a shot" to be in the playoff.
  16. San Francisco scored the first seven runs of the World Series. Teams split the next five runs. Kansas City scored the next eight runs. SF scored the next three. KC scored the next four. SF scored the next 15 runs. KC has scored the last nine (and counting....)
  17. Undefeated Teams: SEC - Mississippi St. ACC - Florida St. One-Loss Teams: SEC - 4 - Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi Pac-12 - 4 - Oregon, Arizona, Arizona St., Utah B1G - 3 - Michigan St., Ohio St., Nebraska Big XII - 3 - Kansas St., TCU, Baylor ACC - 1 - Duke Indep. - 1 - Notre Dame There will be at least six losses among those five SEC teams. There will be at least five losses among those four Pac 12 teams. There will be at least two losses among those three Big XII teams. There will be at least two losses among those three B1G teams. There will be at least one loss between those two ACC teams. Notre Dame plays at Arizona State
  18. Valentine and Price practicing today. Valentine still sore but improving. Santos' knee "locked up" during the Rutgers game but is also improving. Marcus Newby didn't practice bur rode a stationary bike.
