I call BS on that. No one in their right mind would claim that in my opinion. I remember 1 run outside last year and we were backed up at the goaline and Beck ran a zone read. It was the worst call ever. Those calls tell us nothing about Imani's ability to run they ball. In those cases, no one gets many yards. I think the coaches are misusing him. Not sure if you're calling it the worst call ever because of the actual play or the personnel. If it's because of the personnel, then that pretty well undermines the argument that Cross should get more carries. If he can't run the staple of our offense over the last four years, that's not going to work out very well. If you think it's because of the play itself, that would be a classic case of judging the result as opposed to the decision. Easy to second-guess what happened. But Carter totally whiffed on his block. If he at least gets in the way slightly it's a 6-7 yards gain and a decent block is probably 10+ yards. Pretty tough to run any play if the key block at the point of attack is totally missed.

I'm going to guess it's slower that he'd like. He a tall, long-strider and that usually doesn't translate well to the 40. If he turns in a great time, he'll jump way up the draft boards (Currently a 4-5 Round grade).

Wiscy has a long ways to go as well. They play at Iowa next then an Indiana team that already beat them once this year. If they were to drop those two, they wouldn't be in great shape either. We could conceivably be ahead of them in the conference standings at tip time (currently 1.5 games back).

Agree with the points about Alabama having more opportunities to bring in backups due to game conditions but I thought I'd bring in one more aspect. Both teams #2 back got about the same amount of work and we got a lot more carries to our #3 back. After that, we were down to a walk-on who has since transferred. Alabama still has two more four star guys and a five star guy to bring off the bench. There is a possibility that could have something to do with it as well.

I thought of that too. I had to look it up: Alabama - 461 rushing attempts (35.5 per game), 365 passing attempts (28.1 per game), 826 total plays (63.5 per game) Nebraska - 584 rushing attempts (44.9 per game), 378 passing attempts (29.1 per game), 962 total plays (74.0 per game) So, to put it one way, we ran about 10 more plays per game - 9 runs and 1 pass.

Sounds to me like that makes too much sense. Thus, no chance.
