  1. Maryland is a definite improvement from last year but it's really tough to see on TV.
  2. Good work by Ferentz. Spends 30 seconds trying to decide what to do of 4th down then tries to run the FG unit on with 8 seconds on the play clock before burning a TO. Working like a well-oiled machine.
  3. I'll go over on RKIII and under on 23 pages. According to Sports Nightly, their down 3 average 250 lbs with their 245 lb NT bringing the average down. I could probably run for 100 today (assuming the carries are sufficiently spread out for me to catch my breath).
  4. To me, it's not that he can't come in and contribute right away, it's that we're not going to get enough out of him to make it worth while. He's #4 on the chart and, even though he's looked good, is unlikely to move up. There was a similar thread before the first game and I predicted he'd only get 20-25 carries for the year. He's already at 18 but some of that is probably because of Rex's injury and I would think there would be fewer coming - both because Rex is back and we won't be going as deep in conference play. The question is would you rather have him get 30-40 carries this year or 200 four years from now?
  5. Keeps getting better: UAB 12, @ tOSU 7 near half C Mich 20, @ Iowa 14 near half I'd say "Wow" but it shouldn't be that surprising at this point.
  6. Wow, that is one slippery slope on which you're standing. You are correct, which is why I back-pedaled from that statement a few hours after I posted it: It wasn't one of my more lucid moments. I'll beg forgiveness, and ask everyone to forget my error. Yeah, I responded before I got all the way down the thread. Still, it was kind of a half-backpedal (maybe a side-shuffle? ). You said there wouldn't be any grounds for legal action but you didn't really say you changed your stance on being responsible. Sorry if I'm nit-picking.
  7. more than than those committing fraud. how many voters, exactly, would be too many? how many voters, exactly, have committed fraud? So you have no idea how many it would be but it would definitely be too many.
  8. Can someone explain to me how acquiring a photo ID is more onerous that registering to vote?
  9. So at what level does something become a problem? We haven't executed many people for treason lately so maybe we shouldn't worry about enforcing those laws either.
  10. Federal Budget Challenge Pretty interesting page. I didn't take anything resembling the time to check if their numbers are correct but it seemed pretty legit on a quick run-through (someone can correct me if I'm wrong). They do say that the options they list aren't the only ones but it seems to be a pretty good cross-section.
  11. Wow, that is one slippery slope on which you're standing.
  12. should a law that threatens a fundamental democratic right not have an extremely high burden of proof, let alone a preponderance of evidence? It doesn't come anywhere close to that if put in place correctly. The only reason to argue that point is if you don't care if voter fraud happens. no, i make that argument because i do not think voter fraud is a real problem. i think the greater threat to democracy is to disenfranchise so many because of examples of a very few fraudsters. So how many voters, exactly, will be disenfranchised by this?
  13. Give him time, we'll get there. I wasn't just talking about Miles. Been going on since the mid-90s (or longer).
  14. Interesting to listen to the guys on the afternoon show on 850 KOA talk about Colorado non-stop for over an hour - and this was today, four days after the last game. Should they give the coaches time? If so, how much? Are they really supporting the coaches with facilities, etc. that gives them a chance to compete? Even got a mention about facilities at DONU that they can't compete with. Great afternoon for me.
  15. There's a fine line between "competing to the end" and "delaying the inevitable". I think part of the problem is sometimes the QB kind of shuffles around for a bit, trying to kill a few more seconds. This only leads to shoving and cheap shots. I've maintained for some time that the kneel down rule should be enforced similarly to the spike to kill the clock - if you're going to do it, you have to do it as soon as you take the snap. That would clean it up a lot.
  16. Not that I blame him for going but it's particularly hard to compete if we can't even get the few in-state prospects we have to stay here.
  17. So you want to get rid of the players who are #1 and #3 in kills and #1 and #2 in hitting percentage (>100 attempts)? Interesting...
  18. Ouch. Need to turn things around - and quick.
  19. Are Entitlements Corrupting Us? Yes, American Character Is at Stake It's a lot of fun to blame the president but it's pretty misleading. Dems controlled the house every year from 1960 to 1995 (actually they controlled it all but two years from 1933 to 1995). Dems controlled the senate all but six years from 1960 to 1995 and all but 10 years from 1993 to 1995. If you'd like to blame the republicans for any changes to entitlement programs from 1995-2007, please let me know what they are. Otherwise, you're looking on the wrong side of the isle and and the wrong address in Washington.
  20. I'm not going to be able to attend the game this weekend after all so I have two tickets to sell. Face value - $56 - OBO.
  21. Will be here for official visit this weekend. Hopefully the running game remains in high gear.
  22. Plans to take official visit here this weekend.
