  1. Anyone have any details as to when these will be available? What is the process and how will it be determined as to who gets them? If this is a dupe, I apologize!
  2. Gets what? That he needs to get the program going in the right direction? Win games? Recruit better? Hire better assistants? Needs to take charge? Those are part of the job description. Duh! He owes Nebraska nothing! He just needs to do his job! That will take care of itself.
  3. Then go buy a package of hot dogs and leave the thread alone. I think the thread title is an extremely valid and important question, much more so than many thread titles in this forum, not to mention one of the best questions posted to date. Stability, in any form, at the top trickles down to guy who washes the towels in the locker room and everyone in between. Why do you think Dr. Tom operates the way he does? His emotional stability has a significant impact on the iconic way he runs the ship and the success he has had over the decades.
  4. Does Bo Have the Emotional Stability to Lead? Nope!
  5. Come back when your make believe coaching fantasy wears off.
  6. Pelini's presser after the game was emblematic of the way the game went,--------- lethargic, fumbling and uninspired. He is what he is and he does what he does.
  7. Outstanding post! Send it to all the media idiots making up excuses for Pelini!

  9. Bingo. I have supported Bo, but the time comes when you have to wonder if the excuses have merit, or are genuinely indicative of a greater, holistic problem. After tonight, I think it's safe to attribute to the latter. This is year 5, YEAR 5, yet we continue to make the same errors in fundamentals, and problems even a football novice could spot on TV are seemingly not addressed. We have players starting on our defense right now who just aren't hacking it, and honestly would be lucky to start for Peru State. So the answer is just keeping these guys in and sticking with the same scheme? Is there really no one else that can have a shot or could do better? If something isn't working, what makes anyone think it's somehow going to work eventually? Do you wait until you're down by 4 scores to switch a scheme up? Is it really going to hurt to try someone or something different ? Football, especially in this day and age, requires the ability to react and adjust quickly. If you or unable or are too stubborn to do this, then you need to find another avenue for your energies. Think about this: We have gone from year 2 of Pelini, having the best defense in the land, to having one of the worst defenses in school history in year 5. Wasn't this what he was brought in to primarily address? How does this happen with a professed "defensive genius?" Apologists will say the talent level is to blame, which I will agree with to an extent, but if that's a problem in year 5 of a coaching regime, it's hard for me to have much sympathy. Especially when you see teams with coaches who have been at their respective schools for a much shorter time, doing much better, and playing sound, fundamental football at places with much humbler tradition and some with geographic limitations just like we have (West Virginia, K-State, Baylor, Iowa State). What you're actually saying, if talent is a problem in year 5, that 1) recruiting is the problem, by proxy and/or 2) poor roster management is the problem. To me it seems more like poor fundamentals, stubbornness and unwillingness to change scheme, loyalty to friends and certain players, roster mismanagement, and bottom line, not having your players ready to play in big games. These should not be problems in year 5. No excuses. And we should not tolerate these problems, make excuses, or accept it. Feels like we've been here before, doesn't it? Well stated!
  10. What is it you are smoking? Take off your red colored glasses. Six minutes left in the 4th and we are down 25 points and we have played with them? Point out the talent to me! Where are the players with the speed to keep up with O State? Where is the play of the offensive line? Where is the play of the defensive line, line backers and D backs? Give me a break. Not smoking anything. Do you even know what outcoached means. What penalties? the false starts due to crowd noise. Ohio St. has committed as many if not more penalties than us. It's a talent issue. Obviously you missed the first quarter when Bo had obviously devised a scheme that ran cirles around Urban for a whole quarter, but sooner or later the gas runs out, and we didnt do enough to hold up. But i guess, we could do what you obviously have on your mind, fire Bo and whole staff and lets start again. Nick Saban? Hell why not. Yes, I know what out coached looks like. I have coached for 42 years and know what I see. Eliminating fumbles, interceptions, penalties and false starts are part of the coaching process. In this case, for this staff, they are always present. We constantly have turnovers and stupid penalties. Why is that? And, you have to have the coaching to make the adjustments after the first quarter. The O State staff seemed to figure it out and make their adjustments, why did we not do the same? Oh, and where is the passion of our players to win? You, my friend can't see past the end of your nose. Now, it is 62 to 38! 24 point difference. Yes, we got embarrassed.

  13. Bill Callahan era all over again. We are not coached well! We do not have the talent and speed. And, we do not do the two most important fundamentals in football, block and tackle. Can't do those and you cannot win. Total embarrassment. Pelini needs to get some talent and get some coaches who can coach the talent. Period!
  14. If Perlman asks Bo for his input, he also would need to ask Miles, Cook, Erstad, etc. about their opinions. Football is not the only sport at Nebraska. And.................?
  15. Sipple writes for a living. The more he stirs the turds, the better his bosses like it. That is what sells their product, the newspaper. Sipple does what he does what he does to support is standing as a "journalist." True, but he does not have a track record for this kind of tone. Kind of concerning in way. If you believe politicians and journalists, you live in a world of unrelenting paranoia!

  17. TO is a class act! I don't think there is any infighting going on. Newspapers have to sell newspapers. Ironic that Sipple writes this BS considering his track record.
  18. Hard for me to believe that Perlman would take on this project by himself without knowing TO was going to bow out. Also, TO is a smart man. He would confront the issue if he knew Perlman was trying to hire a new AD behind his back and force him out. Why would Perlman want to force TO out in the first place? TO is the most popular iconic figure in the history of the state, at any level, at anytime period especially after coming back to straighten out the mess of Steve Peterson and saving face for Perlman. Perlman would be stepping on his own tally whacker if any of this rumor were true. I don't particularly care for Perlman but I cannot believe he would be so stupid to perpetrate a move without consulting TO. Now, as to the pick for the new AD, that in itself is a little suspicious to me. Why would anyone hire a person without an extensive resume, years of experience, a face no one in this state knows about and no proven track record? Surely, there must have been other more qualified candidates out there willing to take a $975,000 job at NU. Listened to 1620 radio yesterday afternoon and they interviewed a reporter from Miami. He was totally negative about Eichorst. Said he is a "do nothing" type of guy who does not have many people skills, did not communicate with the press in Miami, and basically hid from his staff at Criminal U. Hell, we have a current head coach and chancellor who have difficulty with their own PR skills. And, now we have an AD with the same attributes? Just does not make much sense.
  19. Who would you fire? Ron Brown!
  20. Missouri in the 2000's was trying to compete with Colorado fans. I would put my Wisconsin experence right up there with both of them. Classless A$$ hats. I was really happy with both the OSU fans & the Mich St fans. I even shared my outside beverage bottle that I had brought in with a couple of really good Mich St fans (I usally don't share inside the game) They came back to our tale gate spot & had a few beers with us & even talked a little smack about this years game & how they get their revenge. The fans that kill me the most are the Iowa fans. They would rather lose a whole season just to have NU lose a couple of games. I had heard from a few people that went to Mizzou for the games in the late 90's/00's that it was getting bad, almost as bad as K-State. Heard enough stories about K-State after Snyder got there that could've 'curled your hair' so to speak. Just stupid stuff that amazes me fan bases even think about doing. I think I was fortunate to go to those places when I did. Glad to hear that OSU and MSU fans were pretty nice. Guess my impression has been that those two tend to be the ones that we'll tend to get along with better. At least one we'll see on a yearly basis. When you come to East Lansing this year I'm pretty sure Husker fans will be treated well. If you can stay away from the student sections you should have a fine time. There is always good banter goin' on between the respective fan bases, but the only time things got a little rough was when I was stuck in Section 105 (Visitors (Iowa game)) and fights broke out. We were a little down this year after the ND game but there were no real issues with any of the fan bases, and ND had a wonderful evening at our expense !@#$%... I'm also sure you're going to have fun at Ryan Field (very small and dated, but still nice) and from my friends who have attended NW they're really looking forward to the meeting... My wife & I are expecting a baby in early January, so My road game travels had to be canceled. If the kid is due in January, you should still be able to make the road games. Hell, she will not even be showing her pregnancy much until November. Just sayin'...........
  21. So, you all think this is a done deal? Unless TO puts his stamp of approval on it, not going to happen.
  22. He is a really great athlete who goes to Norris High school, just south of Lincoln. Jackson Reetz will be playing baseball, eitheri at NU or in the pros. Want to see him play FB? Go Friday night to Beatrice.

    Uni's

Personally, I did not like the new look. I hope they give them away to the Salvation Army or Goodwill! Uniforms do not win or lose games, the players do. I simply did not like the look.
