  1. I’m critical of Erstad the last 5 years, but this may actually be his best coaching year yet. They had a good start to the season, outside of getting swept by OSU, and got back on track these last few weekends after a rough April/early May. If they can put some work in next week and just show up for a chance at super regional bid, I’ll be excited to see what’s to come with the youth of this team

Coaching at Nebraska can be a challenge.  Van Horn is the only coach who was able to keep the top Nebraska kids in state plus bring quality outstate kids in.  He also had a very good hitting coach.  Our biggest weaknesses I can see is batters chasing bad pitches and too many strike outs.  Erstad is a Nebraska icon and I love having him here.  I really hope this year kick starts the program.

They looked poor against lefties those last three games, and especially yesterday. I mean 7 runs with 14 walks in UM night game? Ouch. I just think they did more with less this year and the team is much younger than the 2013 and 2014 team. Oh well, hope they can buckle down and get a few wins this upcoming weekend

At the 5:40 mark he explains his decision of who to start vs the leftie pitchers.
