  1. Shoot, Bootle's HS plays at 7pm same day as NU/Miami game.

  2. Let them make these comments, more axe to grind when he straps it on.
  3. I do know that about Big Play VA, he transferred from my alma mater, I've followed his situation pretty closely. He has one year to play one year and has no effect on Terry. My point is they like QBs that are mobile like Terry, but are pass first, scramble to look for the pass, then run. VA means nothing to Terry's situation, just one comparison in style and why Oregon is so interested in him. I'm upset he left EWU, he has more to lose than to gain. From close friends he isn't the best academic student - or close to it - where i wouldn't be surprised if he doesnt make it to Oregon. I don't know much, but this is one instance I am pretty knowledgable about.
  4. Really interesting mix...do they something in common e.g. Style of defense?Three of the bigger Midwest schools, one Pac12 that's probably too far for an unofficial visit and one SEC who's defense any kid would love to play in...they get after it. Remember early playing time is a big factor here.UW is gonna have a rough upcoming season, but Peterson is recruiting like a mad man up there.
  5. Can someone help me with the pronunciation? Mick, Mike, Mikey, or Mike-ay or something I'm not even thinking of?
  6. Scout says he'll be visiting UW this week. They've had some some success with the Hawaiian connection.
  7. Go south of campus and the capital in lincoln and you have the same thing. Every bigger city has that garbage. Even when you go directly east of campus on Vine, its a dump filled with homeless people. I know because I lived right at that Walgreens on 26th and Vine for a few months back in 2008/09 The thing is, Wilson considers himself a QB that is a passer but can run when necessary. He takes offense to being called a dual threat. One thing fans should be excited about is Riley/Langsdorfs ability to adapt. Oregon doesn't necessarily look for just dual threat guys. Their QB that they have right now (Lockie) isn't a dual threat. They need someone to distribute the ball at a high efficiency. QB runs are just a extra kudos. Bingo. They like passers that have speed/agility to extend plays and continue to look downfield, then use legs to make plays. Like the transfer QB Oregon just brought in from Eastern Washington, Vernon Adams...a broke Russell Wilson.
  8. August 1st was when the alternates were announcemed/revealed. Still got some time. I'm sure they'll do it again, I don't mind if we pass on it though.
  9. I'd venture out and say Bo's WRs were more physical and blocked better than most tight ends in the nation.
  10. POB is getting the love, TW is putting is head down grinding in the shadows. Looking forward to this QB battle.

Looking forward to it too. Both look talented although I gotta admit, I favor TW at this point.

I think TW wins 18 majors.

I finally watched POBs film from last year, he makes quite a few passes on the run, and on target too. I don't think Riley is going to be stubborn on the pocket only type QB unless he lands a big fish.

No way TW wins 18 majors, he'll be lucky to win even just one more.

  11. Really miss Will Bolt. That was a tough blow.
  12. 2010 was the vertical stripes - 2011 was the wavy/crooked stripes. Keep up! So what is wrong with 2010 again? The stripes are too vertical? Seriously? It kinda makes him look bloated and doesn't bring out his eyes.
  13. Anyone know what this NCAA regulation is?
  14. Bo, on the other hand, hadn't been a college HC before. Yet he seemed better at training his players up I know this may take a minute of your time to think about, but I've always been curious on people's thoughts on this subject. Could you list {b]who[/b] you would put in this category? Who do you feel clearlyimproved from their freshmen to their senior seasons as a player under Bo Pelini and his staff? There's a couple of obvious guys I would list: Ndamukong Suh Stanley Jean Baptiste Prince Amukamara Those guys were highly talented players to begin with, but I do believe they improved over their time here, especially Suh. Who else would you say you saw "tangible" improvement throughout their careers? [maybe this neeeds a thread, maybe not] O'Hanlon, Helu, Caputo, Martinez, Abdullah, Spencer Long, Mark Pelini, and probly a couple others I've forgotten. All those guys did considerably better than expected when we recruited them. Or at least, better than the *fans* thought they would. (I'd mention Crick but we had pretty high expectations for him, I think.) Suh saying Crick would be better than him after the Holiday Bowl helped fuel those expectations. He was pretty darn good though.
  15. Yeah, I think Callahan's* lack of college coaching experience had a bigger impact than anyone anticipated. It seems like Cally treated his players like they were professionals. But the vast majority of college players lack the mental discipline that the pros have. And that's why he never got the most out of his players. Bo, on the other hand, hadn't been a college HC before. Yet he seemed better at training his players up, and instilling a sense of team spirit. (Even though the team spirit seemed like us-against-the-world sometimes.) *Callahan. There, I named he who cannot be named. Does calling his team "stupid" count for treating your team like professionals? Lol
  16. Hope that doesn't mean he comes out with some tacky primadonna bleacher report announcement video.
  17. Ohhh the bubble guts, and the weekend has only begun

  18. I'd +2 your post if I could. They were/are still one of the most penalized teams in the league. Unless you're talking about unsportsmanlike penalties. Also, Michael Bennett accounts for half the penalties because he jumps offside a 2-3 times per game. That tackling work is solid, the other key was shuffling through as many transactions as they did to find the right players to fit their system and mentality. Not as easy to do at the college level, but I like Urbans attitude of playing true freshman and not holding kids back. 1) if they can compete let them make the impact 2) if they can't cut it they'll be out of the program sooner and able to recruit a better player.
  19. There aren't too many good commentators out there, spielman and McDonough do a pretty good job. I don't know if it was his connection to Bo or just wanting to see a traditional power get over the hump, or maybe neither, but I took his commentary as somewhat pulling for Nebraska.
  20. wasnt it reported they took Riley's successes and invested in the whole athletic department, stopping short of upgrading the football program the way they should, I believe that was mentioned before. If OSU finally buys into their football program after Riley leaves, can you really compare apples to apples? Nah. I like Riley's track record, I like what he's put together so far, I look forward to the fall and letting him write his own history here.

Both of their personalities combined to clash with each other. Cowherd is like a squirrel, he asks him a question and then answers it for himself, and then asks Harbaugh a different question. Really awkward. I dislike both of those two haha

    3. Micheal

      Micheal

I don't like Cowherd but I think he was doing his best to help Harbaugh. Throwing softballs and helping him hold the bat. Jim didn't know he was at at the plate.

I'm not going to deny that, but the opening greeting and then the first question were a bit odd and put Harbaugh in a wtf mode and then Harbaugh being Harbaugh.

  21. Any insight on why Dennis Erickson failed at ASU after such a strong start?Dennis Erickson never failed. Must be someone else's fault. I mean....just look at his record at Oregon St. The guy is a legend.I would have to agree with you about OSUFor coaches coaching 4 years or more he holds the record for highest winning % and of course highest ranking in OSU history- the team that went 11-1 and finished 4th in nation And right in the middle of the Mike Riley tenure at a place a lot of people think is impossible to win at consistently, which they were wrong about Great run Did better at OSU than at Arizona State Had some rough patches after OSU- not a HOF coach Some guys fade over time- it happens. pretty common Not impossibleMike Riley won there pretty consistently. Well Mike RIley having 6 losing seasons out of 14 and having a losing record in conference wouldn't be winning consistently by most peoples definitionsNot mine either Erickson greatly benifitted from Riley's foundation, as in the recruits Riley brought in before leaving for another opportunity, a business decision. Erickson won with Riley's recruits, he won with what Jimmy Johnson left behind, and he struggled at ASU. He is business savvy, but a mediocre coach.
