  1. I've met him before when my high school camped at Oregon St, he was an alright guy, I remember him talking about coaching The Rock - liked the nose candy a little too much in college. Anyway, his stops have been short and he owes a lot to those who built a program before him, nothing against the guy, but don't think he could build or sustain a program.
  2. Any insight on why Dennis Erickson failed at ASU after such a strong start?Because be was a crappy coach that rode the coat tails of predecessors?
  3. FWIW, my family moved away from Omaha in 1990. When we would came back to visit my dad was a little taken back by how much more NU gear people wore out in public. Especially after the title years. Heck, we were big fans then but we owned more apparel after we moved away, than while we lived in Nebraska. When/if we become elite again, we'll see more nebraska gear and championship t-shirts and such.
  4. One of my favorite games to watch: Miami at Nebraska One of mine too, lots of great highlights by the entire team, one of Tommy's best games, and a just a beast of an effort by Ameer. (I had to edit my post a couple times for accuracy, my bad)
  5. Ameer vs Miami Broke NU Career All Purpose Yards 35-229; 3 TDs 1-3; 1 TD
  6. With a class size expecting to be over 25, we should easily crack top 20. I will admit I am drinking the KoolAid, and even with all of the changes, I have reasons to expect a CCG appearance. If we can do that and win a bowl game, that's a ton of momentum to land/flip some highly sought after talent heading into signing day to get us into Top15-10. There is a lot of upside to this team to accomplish their goals. We start winning, the recruits will start coming, and those local kids will wish they were on board.
  7. DB has been saying that for over a while now, kinda sucks. It's important Riley wins immediately, need to prevent an exodus of in staters and look attractive to big time recruits across the country.
  8. Can we stop posting this websites articles and giving these schmucks more credence than they deserve? These are about the dumbest narrow minded writers with a keyboard and blog.
  9. So Riley didn't lay out their plan for him? Come be a TE at Nebraska? The impression I get is they didn't really want him and him not going to any of the camps didn't give the staff a good chance to get a look of him. Can't tell if this is a loss or not, but good luck to him and let's go get somebody better.
  10. There was also that link to the Jerry Kill Show, broadcast BEFORE the Nebraska game, in which Kill describes in simple detail how Minnesota was going to exploit the Nebraska defense. He did not appear worried that he was giving away his strategy in public, and he was correct that Nebraska made no adjustments to correct this glaring weakness before or during the game. Which Minnesota won. All coaches are confident in the plan. Also, Minny was down 21-7 and also got a pretty lucky fumble at like the 1 to get them the win. So, let's not pretend like they had a plan that allowed them to win 42-0.Right, however, their point was nebraska is going to shoot themselves in the foot, like we did. We would've had to come back to win that game, from the one or not, nebraska out thought themselves and allowed a potential blow up to become a close game. Kinda like ucla, wisconsin, and other games we jumped out in front and lost control.
  11. Didn't this start out at 4.5 or was it 5.5?
  12. The funniest/saddest quote I heard from someone close to the program was when a reporter asked a coach about playing nebraska. Maybe I was a sideline reporter, but either way, the opposing coach was asked if they'll make adjustments or how are they going to game plan against nebraska. The response was, "It's nebraska, they think they're smarter than everyone, we'll wait for them to outsmart themselves and implode." I will still believe Bo does know Xs and Os, I'm not going to take away his acumen. I'll fault him for not coaching kids up, not developing players, and making kids thinkers instead of doers. He reminds me of my high school baseball coach, knows the ins and outs of their respective sport, but instead of developing strengths and letting them go out and play, they focus on weaknesses and become average athletes. Which is why I think we saw a number of those raw kids not last or progress, Thomas Brown, Afalava, etc. and some elite kids hate football, like Tyler Moore.
  13. Must have a family member that graduated from there and is just trying to keep piece in the family until he chooses Nebraska.I was thinking first offer, but yup, good call.
  14. Pretty cool hearing Jack Stoll interview and talk Cameron up, "he looks like a full grown man."
  15. I'll remember him for at least righting the ship after the BC experience, but after that he never grew up as a coach on the field or off the field. The audio tapes still don't exactly bother me, but are an offshoot of the greater scheme of his coaching makeup. He didn't like being here and he coached his players that way. Some bought it, others worked through it, obviously we see where Leroy stands. Chalk this up as a win for the program and the optimism of moving forward.
  16. Also where Drake Martinez played last year.
  17. The doofuses don't know when It's best to shut up, just like the old coach.
  18. I can see Whitaker being one and a LB being another.
  19. 25+How do you figure? We have 19 scholarship seniors, 2 new open scholarships, and the too early mock draft of Collins going out early. Over signing is the only way I see that we can get to 25, or am I missing something?
