  1. If we're talking NCAA single season or career records then no, probably not. But if we're talking about breaking the Nebraska's various season and/or career records then that's much more likely given he has two more years of eligibility.
  2. I think Helu's ups and downs had more to do with our inconsistent OL than with Roy. I oft asked people that with as hard and as physical as Roy runs, could you imagine him running behind the '94, '95, or even '97 OL? He'd a rushed for probably 2,500 yards and be considered the best RB we've ever had.
  3. Okay so the video and audio suck, but it conveys my thoughts.
  4. I actually did go without the web for over a year. The details of which are not important here, but it 100% sucked. And like AR I too once knew what life was like prior to the web, well the 70's and 80's at least.
  5. Dude chill out, I wasn't slamming Nebraska........I said we weren't recruiting him very hard because we already have 3 BETTER linebackers. And yeah I agree, the 4 last year were better too. I just thought it was funny to see a Nebraska hat on the table when I knew we weren't really pursuing him much. Seriously braj, take pill full of chill. I wasn't slamming you. I was merely asking you what I thought were logical questions and backing up my observations with relevant data. So now the question is, why are you gettin' all defensive bra?
  6. While I agree that Taylor is the guy and he'll own several if not all the records, he's far from perfect or above criticism. Some of our fans do go over board when criticizing Taylor, but that's the nature of playing QB-all the praise when winning and all the blame when losing.
  7. I don't entirely disagree, but you can't overload one position because it'll short another. And with five RBs behind Rex that's plenty. Of course if a situation happens at RB to Nebraska like it did with Iowa that depth could disappear quickly but for now we have the depth to address it should it arise.
  8. And.....? He also, according to what you said, had an Arkansas and Illinois hat on the table. Were they just as "burned" as Nebraska or do they get a pass because they're not Nebraska? Why is it that you seem to be relishing the one LB we didn't get instead of celebrating the three we did get in this class? And for the record, all three of the LBs we currently have committed are rated higher than this Beisel kid-at least according to rivals.com with Banderas and Newby both rated as 5.7 4 stars. And what about the four we signed in last year's class? In which three of the four are rated higher than Beisel. Only one, Thomas Brown, is rated as a 5.6 like Beisel is.
  9. Ha ha! That's true. I guess you can't prove there aren't UFOs just like you can't prove God exists. it is a funny observation at first approximation (and made me think a bit), but to me they are pretty different. an atheist believes he/she exists without a god, so in an infinite (or nearly infinite, or however large) universe it would stand to reason that creatures somewhere else developed and evolved similarly as we did; it is hard to imagine such a vast universe with only one planet that can sustain life. the two beliefs are very different. there is scientific proof regarding how we evolved and from what we developed, there is reason to believe it could happen elsewhere. But if God created life here then he could have created it every where. I'm not saying that's what I believe I'm just throwing it out there for consideration.
  10. I think it did make the point and here's why: Selina Kyle is dancing with Bruce Wayne and she purrs that, "There's a storm coming Mr. Wayne..." At first she welcomed it because she thought how great it would be. Then, after it happened, she realized that she no longer had anyone to steal from because nobody had anything of value. That's why she came back to help Batman instead of just taking off. Well that and there's always been a love hate relationship between Catwoman and Batman. At least that's what I took out of it.
  11. Maybe Bane thought that the officer in question was trapped with all the others. That's the most likely scenario as to why he was able to "hide" for nearly five months. Why would you search for someone you think is trapped underground or dead? Bane set the timer for five months because, as he stated to Batman, he wanted to give the Gotham "hope" multiple times before he ultimately destroyed it. It was his way of prolonging the cruelty which given the character of Bane made perfect sense. After all, the doctors, in the original graphic novel, "Vengence of Bane" made him suffer for quite a while through the experimentation. I'm not real sure how Bruce Wayne made it from the lip of the prison to Gotham so fast. Maybe there will be deleted scenes in the DVD that will explain it or at the least the director's commentary will address it. As to how the Batplane avoided detection, well a) Gotham is a huge city, b) the city was cut off from the rest of the world, c) it was on top of a very large skyscraper, and d) Bane and his men didn't seem to have access to satellite data to view the tops of the buildings in the city. The Batplane not being found certainly strains credulity, but given the circumstances it is entire possible. And I just now thought of this, maybe since Bane broke Batman's back and imprisoned him that Bane thought he'd never walk again much less be able to fly the plane or fight. And given where Bane imprisoned him he probably also thought he'd never see Batman ever again. The time lapse from early evening to complete darkness really doesn't bother me. Just my thoughts.
  12. I dunno, Iowa State managed to beat Oklahoma State last season. Weird sh^^ always seems to happen to opposing teams when they play the Cyclones. Remember our -8 turnover fiasco that allowed those clowns to win by two freaking points in Lincoln no less?
  13. A couple of months ago, while out with some friends one night, I actually saw an Iowa fan as well. He looked at my Nebraska hat and said, "Nebraska sucks." I looked at him and said the following: a) not as much as your mom, and b) when was the last time Iowa beat Nebraska? He pretty much shut up after that. LOL.
  14. One snap at a time? j/k I think Westerkamp redshirts. Although Bo does leave it to the player as to whether he 'shirts or not. Typically true freshman only play if there is a tremendous pressing need and clearly at WR there's no need to play him due to the depth in front of him. I just hope that if Westerkamp plays he doesn't spend his freshman season like Quincy Enunwa where he catches 1 pass. If these guys play to their potential we'll have one of the sickest WR corps not only in the Big 10 but in the entire nation. Our WRs have the potential to be mentioned in the same category as USC, Arkansas, Oregon, etc-yeah they're that good. As to your other questions...
  15. And I had completely forgotten about King Frazier. I don't know if he'll ever see the field but with the addition of Frazier and Cross, we'll have Ameer, Mike, and Braylon-all of them behind Rex. So ya RB is not a huge priority in this class. I'm thinking we either nab Newby or Comier (spelling) in this class or pass on a RB altogether.
  16. Yeah I know that's not how insurance works. I'm just saying...
  17. So who would be piloting those UFOs whether it is a being inside the craft or controlling it remotely?
  18. Ideally that one bullet will be a .50 cal round fired from a Barrett M82 sniper rifle and will take both out with one shot. Although I have to say that if it comes down to only one getting the bullet, the pedophile wins by the narrowest of margins.
  19. I thought the movie made an interesting point: The people at the top are definitely corrupt, crooked, and use the system to enrich themselves while screwing everyone else. But when "the people" are put in charge, society devolves into an even worse state.
  20. Privacy? That's as obsolete of an idea as bringing back 8-track tapes. And it's not just cell phones either. When you wake up in the morning and leave the house their are traffic cameras that could be used to follow you to work. If you stop at any business to buy a cup of coffee, soda, etc you're on surveillence there. You're photographed at every stop light. You're being watched while you're at work: every key you strike on your keyboard, every call, email, etc is tracked, read, and stored. When you surk the web, MSN, Yahoo, Google and the like track and store every site you visit, they keep every email you send, and the process repeates itself when you go home. It's like Gene Hackman's character says in the movie Enemy of the State, the more technology you use the easier it is to keep tabs on you.
  21. I went to see TDKR last night and WOW! It was absolutely awesome. There were a few quibbles though: Bane's voice = awful, Bane's mask = dumb, the bat plane looked too cartoonish and not real, and I thought the movie started a little too slow. I have to say I kinda had the feeling that Levitt's character would become the new Batman... But I totally did not see the other twists at the end. I mean I kinda suspected that the woman was altogether too goody-goody to be real. But she, and the film, did such a great job of selling her character as a genuine and helpful person concerned only with helping others and giving back. There's a life lesson in there for real somewhere but I'll be damned if I can find it. :wink And Anne Hathaway: Oh my...
