  1. Absolutely 100% my #1 choice! I don't know if he would come here, but the guy is a super smart coach and would be a splash hire. Let's do everything we can to get him here. the guy is under contract through 2021. no chance at all That's why buy outs are built in to contracts!!! Seriously, keep passing the hat!
  2. Some TE moving around in the backfield taking advantage of some mismatches... Maybe while in the diamond formation 2 TE set. Everybody sprints out to a 5 wide.... Confusion ensues then run a QB draw!!
  3. How bout offer Brad Stevens 2.5 mil a year for 5 years! Let's pass the hat.... I'll start.... $.02!!!!
  4. Was said on ESPN today that Shaka was lead candidate for Illinois job.
  5. I'm not wholly convinced Martinez was 100% in 2011. This is purely conjecture on my part, but after watching the way he played in 2010 compared to 2011, something was off in his athleticism. And I'm not just talking defenses being wise to his act. He didn't look like he had the same speed. You could be right about not being 100%. but I thought it looked more like he was thinking too much out there. Or maybe even being coached to play more conservative. It always seemed like when it looked like he had a lane to break one, one person always had a good angle.
  6. Anything between 11 and 14 wins are realistic. My guess is we don't get all these games in cause of weather(seems like this is usually the case). Anything around 66% is what we should shoot for!!! GBR!!
  7. Question. Is ciante just lacking the mental aspect or is it more physical.
  8. I once tripped from Dallas all the way to New Orleans....it wasn't that bad!!
  9. While I like where your head is at, I suggest you stay in the 420 cloud because it'll ease your disappointment later. I'd say that the chances of us hanging on to Dixon, now that his recruiter and coach is at LSU, is less than 2%. Well with this rationale we should have an outstanding chance at pulling in josephs recruits he had considering Tennessee!
  10. First things first... Mr Joseph, meet Mr. Dixon!
  11. Unless you get hit under the chin or speared in the side of the helmet you're probably not going to get a concussion form hitting heads on the line. You really dated yourself with the head slap comment, that's been outlawed for a long time. It's probably a better way for someone to get a concussion than "head butting", which is probably a poor choice of words by Cam. I think they are probably being taught to make first contact with the helmet more so than head butt the guy. If you look at any outstanding middle linebacker or D lineman you'll notice that there helmet is scarred up pretty good and it's always from making contact with the other guys helmet. We were always taught that when shading a man to attack the offensive lineman in the V of the neck in the direction we wanted to control. Essentially attack leading with the head up into the armpit just under the chin and your hands on his breast plate inside and outside, once you make contact you basically bench press them to get separation and control, and shuck him when you know where you need to go. The point of leading with the head is to gain more leverage. If you come in lower than your man with your head up you have all your momentum concentrated in that small area and it's much easier to drive up and through him and hopefully knock him off balance so you can have your way with him. So jsneb83 is right it helps to create separation and reestablish the LOS, but I would argue *WARNING SCIENCE AHEAD* that you generate more Power (Power = Work/Time) by engaging with your head and then pressing the defender away because you have increased the amount of Work (Work = Force x Distance) done by increasing the distance over which the Force was applied (Force = Mass x Acceleration). Nerdy I know, but football is all about physics. Ummm.... OK!!
  12. just a lateral move here otherwise I could have seen it happen
  13. WHOA! on the surface?? He's decent looking but I hope he has more to offer than looks!
  14. I agree! I remember someone telling me that Tommie fraziers class was somewhere in the 50s! This came out after the 95 season because either I was told or read an article about how that class was a reason to not buy into the recruiting hype!
  15. was a JOKE dude.... Stop taking yourself so seriously!!
  16. It's been said before but I guess I have to say it again for this poster! You can't recruit top notch athletes to Lincoln Nebraska!! Like it or not our cold and snowy winters affect the recruits decision! OH WAIT THIS IS FOR HOCKEY???...... My bad!
  17. We need to stop rationalizing as to why Doc needs to go! His record speaks for itself! He has no connection to this team and I think Doc is really happy that he is gonna get PAID on his way out the door!
  18. so, who else was pressing to hire Raymond when we too him last year? That's a good point, Bo seems to have a knack for spotting talented, up-and-coming coaches. Isn't that Ekeler guy a Co-DC already? Which is helping Nebraska win games how? exactly, Raymond shows up the first year, bitches openly about the lack of talent, secondary sucks and then he leaves, like the homeboy he is, back to LSU to coach a Heisman DB and 3 returning starters on a great team........might as well pick your spot to make yourself look successful if you can. HOMEBOY?
  19. Already said no to a positon job last year...............rumor was he wanted a coordinator's position to leave Oregon....... What if he hears that the NCAA rumors are true and the hammer is gonna get dropped on Oregon?
